Russ has been a committed Sea Angler for more than fifty years, first fishing the Eddystone Reef as a fifteen year old Fitter apprentice aboard Dave Elworthy’s charter boat Sunlit Waters. Since that early tutoring by some of the best sporting anglers of the day, he has maintained a lifelong ambition to catch quality fish on quality tackle, in quality time!

His Writing and Photography stems from his father, who converted a coal shed into a darkroom. Over more than fifty years Russ has moved from black and white, through colour transparencies to the digital era that is today.

Modern technology is something he has a real enthusiasm for whether it be fishing tackle, GPS, computers or cameras. Life is never dull around Russ because he really does have a “Passion for Angling” and cares deeply that we hand on a worthwhile heritage to younger anglers. He has a simple philosophy “no secrets”.
