Over 20 years successful chartering has given us a good idea of what you; our customers want, what can be caught and when.

Reef fishing - We are fortunate in having Kilve, St. Audries, Doniford and Dunster all within 4 miles of Watchet.  Generally it is from these inshore reefs that our winter cod fishing takes place.  We always anchor and would recommend fishing uptide.

Mudflats/Sandbanks - The extensive Blue Anchor Bay mud flats offer some fantastic ray fishing.  During the summer months the sand banks off Minehead, Selworthy, Lynmouth, Woody Bay and The Nash can produce truly excellent sport with numerous species regularly boated.  Lighter tackle is recommended for best results. And Skippers favourite Small Eyed Rays- We have held the U.K. record of 17lb 8ozs since 1991

Off shore reefs and gullies - Summer months (weather permitting) for  large tope, smoothound, conger eels, bull huss, rays, cod.

Inshore around the rocks - At anchor or drifting pollack, mackerel, rockling, wrasse, gurnard, bass and bull huss can be taken between Porlock and Ilfracombe.
Please call us on 01984 631310 or 07778 750939 the night before your sail to check weather conditions.  It's the skipper’s worst nightmare to drag you to Watchet and then not be able to put to sea although this rarely happens.

Scooby Doo Too is a Bullet DS 38, which easily cruises at 16-18 knots – so more time fishing & less time steaming.

There’s enough shelter for all on board, flushing WC, a steady supply of hot drinks and an oven makes for a comfortable trip.

Scooby Doo Too   is available for corporate days, club outings or simply treating yourself to a good days fishing.  We’re licensed for a maximum 12 passengers and 2 crew, but recommend 10 as a realistic maximum. Ladies & children are always welcome.

4, 8 or 12 hour trips are available – sailing time changes daily; we’re very dependent on the tide!

Individual bookings are taken from Easter to September, usually at least one trip per week, but this depends on demand.

Tuition is provided at every level – even if you’ve never fished before don’t be put off - we’ll help with everything from bait preparation to landing the catch. We can also supply everything you’ll need.

Each hire rod has a multiplier reel, end tackle and suitable lead.  Mackerel and squid bait are usually supplied as standard, with other bait s such as lugworm, rag worm, sand eel and crab available by arrangement.

You are more than welcome to bring your own tackle, but for everyone’s comfort please only bring a day’s requirement.

Conservation – All undersized fish are automatically returned to the sea.  We discourage large scale fish kills and where practical adopt a catch and release approach.
