The annual Ammo Baits competition aboard Weymouth based charter boat Flamer 4 skippered by Colin Penny was rescheduled to late May in order to steer clear of Olympic events later in the summer.
This year’s competition was a flatfish competition with points awarded for flatfish species and numbers. Competitors landed turbot, brill, plaice and dabs. Top fish of the day was a stunning turbot of 15lb to the rod of Peter Gillet. Winner of the match with a total of 96 points was WSF contributor Wayne Thomas. Dave Jenkin’s secured runner up spot with 92 points. A full account of the trip will appear in a future WSF feature.
