Wales/England Match 5.
Due to the sad loss of our WSF and Team England member AKWBERTO…. the England Cpt. has rightly decided that the re-match must be on the beach Alan often fished himself….. Brean.
.
Unfortunately the tides for Brean/Brean Down/Burnham are proving difficult to negotiate.
However due to the expediency required to raise funds for his young family we will press on with this venue trying to work round the tide as best we can.
Fishing time may be compromised but we feel this must take 2nd place to this fundraising opportunity.
In these exceptional circumstances I am proposing to ask the Welsh Cpt. Andy to continue his arrangements for a fundraising meet in Wales, I think Oxwich has been muted and consider this as match 5.
Although we will be fishing many miles apart, we will be united in a common cause.
The opportunity arises for the Wenglishmen of our team to cut travelling time and costs by attending the Welsh venue and the Welshmen at the Eastern end of the M4 corridor can fish the English venue.
I think a combination of two venues is going to increase numbers attending therefore, hopefully, increasing the funds raised for Alans family; this must take precedence over all decisions made.
As for the result of Match 5 …. Measurements of fish caught from both meetings can be compared after and a victor decided.
And for the only result that really matters… this idea maximises the chances of making a real difference to those he left behind.
Details and a date will follow very soon. Sunday the 2nd of March is the date being considered.
A good response to this meet would be greatly appreciated by all.
