Perhaps one of the Mods could consider making this thread a Stickey?

I know people understandably get very protective about their fishing marks, but how about canoe launch sites? I would like to start a thread by listing some good launch sites for Canadian (like me) and Kayak anglers in Cornwall. My top 3 in order are:

1. Swanpool Beach, Falmouth. Large car park only costs £1.50 per day and is never full, even on a sunny summer weekend. Easy 50m carry to the water (Falmouth Bay and Stack (Pennance) Point)

2. Kiln Quay, Flushing. Good when the weather is a bit rough. Drive to the end of the no through road, unload and leave canoe by the gate, drive back and park on road. 100m carry to water (Falmouth Harbour, east paddle to Trefusis Point).

3. Loe Beach, Feock, nr Truro (not to be confused with Loe Bar - NOT SUITABLE). Costs about £2 to park and another £1 to launch, but right out into Carrick Roads with a 20 m carry. Gets very busy in summer, but a great option for evening fishing (and normally free at this time).

Mmmm, paying to launch a yak off the beach? Seems as though that's a beach to avoid.

Not trying to pee on your fire or anything, the beauty of a kayak is that you can launch them pretty much anywhere. If the nearest car park is a short distance from the beach then just get a trolly. As long as you don't have to climb down a cliff, or drag it over rocks then the world is your oyster!

Horrible trolley down to the beach though (especially on the way back) and then there's all the tourists. Prefer Porthgwarra around the corner, nice sheltered bay, easy carry through the tunnel in the rocks to launch. Parking cheaper as well I believe. But for free launches I usually head to the Lizard peninsula: Porthallow & Porthoustock being favourites.

Couple of stickies already up there, add your info to them but specify it is for yaks only or all boats.
