Hopetoun WA, 5 Mile beach (not 5 miles long but 5 miles from town...). 3.5kg salmon (Arripus Trutta, not a real salmon, member of the herring family) taken today on 8lb line and a 70g Halco slice.
Don't know what it is about these lures. They'll ignore everything else until you chuck a Halco Twisty in, then the funs on. You have to give up after catching a few as the arms begin to ache...... Awesome to catch, full acrobatics n all. I only ever keep one for the pot as there are better eating fish to be had. Make superb fish cakes though; go pretty well on the smoker too.
