Fish identification..juvenile bass?

I have tried to attach some photos to this posting, hope it has worked.

I caught this fish a few miles up the Tavy estuary (Devon) a few days ago. It was tiny so I released it back into the river.
I am fairly new to fishing so I'm not great at fish identification. Can anybody tell me what it is? I thought it might be a juvenile bass.

Yep thats a lil baby school bass m8.....

100% correct. It is a juvenile Bass, otherwise known as a school bass or schoolie.

hi ...bass can and do travel miles up river indeed they can be caught 5-6 miles up the ouse near where i live..cheers andy
