The Fjords seem to offer some very good fishing for Cod, Haddock, Torsk, Halibut, Ling, Saithe and Pollock etc. Also, a member on here (Havengel) who lives in Norway has some photos of monstrous Lemon Sole of 3lb+(bigger than the current british record taken from Loch Goil). In general, the fishing is excellent although Im sure that they have their **** areas aswell. (BTW, a 101lb Cod was taken on a handline a few months ago!!!)
I will put this in the international forum, where I am sure havengel will come across it.

Yes, lewisteh, i came across it:)
Marcus, I think you are bit of a masochist if you love sea fishing and tease yourself with a couple of years in Norway before moving to Sweden:ohnoes:
Generally the fishing in Norway is far better than Sweden; more fish, bigger fish, more species.
Southern Norway, western Norway and northern Norway offer different kinds of fishing, so where you are moving to will be a significant bit of information. If you tell me to where and when, I'll tell you how the fishing is and maybe even put you in touch with someone there who can show you the nice spots.
I live in Oslo, by the way, so if you are moving here, I'll be happy to take you fishing.:)

Hi m8 its Oslo i will be moving to the reason the girl has to finish her training there ,the reason for moving to Sweden after is because that's where she is from and she wants to live near her parents ,that ain't so much a problem for me as it only cost us 15 pound return last time we were there ,if you don't mind i will keep in touch
vi ses senare :)

Hi Marcus.
it looks like you're going to be one of the lucky ones.
That girl had better be very nice to you if she wants to get you to Sweden. The fishing is no comparison.
Southern Norway is okay if you want a few fish but you have to go North of Bergen if you want any size on a regular basis.
It starts getting realy special around Hitra in April. Lots of big coalfish and cod. later in the year there are good ling.
Further up the coast is Vikna, here you'll find good cod in winter and spring. Resident fish are around during the sommer as well.
The Lofoten is well known as is Senja, Soroya and the North Cape. I've fished them all and prefer the grounds around Hitra. Although having said that if you want halibut you have to go North.
Robert
