Thanks Mave

Hi Mave in mallorca we tend to get the best results on full hard back crab about 1 1/2 to 2 inches or razor clams still in shell,Had a few at night but the best ones tend to be in the day good luck The Pescador

I have caught them on rag and mackie at local marks... lovely fish, much harder fighting than the black bream

you only want to use a bass spinning rod for them
and thread a rag worm up your line and leave an inch and a half of the tail hanging from the hook
then cut a half inch of the tail off to let the juices out

rebait ever 15 to 20 minutes if they are there this is a deadly method
they will also fall to inch slithers of calamari

really great fish to catch if you get one about 3/4 of a killo on a surespin

I agree with gary, i use a 2-4 oz rated 10 ft rod and a bait runner for most of my daytime summer fishing, 3 oz lead, 3hook flapper with size 2 hooks

I have caught all mine in the day...

H:sun::sun::sun:i mate i fish for the giltheads down here in cornwall a lot in the summers we tend to catch a lot of them on lug rag and plealers but all by day in the first 2 hours of the tide after that they have gone past.

i think its going to be a case of fish for the blacks in your normal way and there could be the odd guilthead among them.

best here is raw prawn, squid a poor second choice ,although bread, raw chicken and bacon can get some takes.

Hi Pugs when i lived in hampshire i used to fish for the guilts at Warsash, walk to the end of the spit at the mouth of the river hamble and cast straight out,if you look on google earth you will see where i mean, use rag tiped with a sliver of squid, but look on the beach for any slipper limpets washed up if you find some tip the rag with them it rearly used to make a difference. All the best m8 hope you catch a few.
