hi there mate, i can help with the tube lures, but i have found that rattling minnows are more than effective. was spinning with a soft sandeel lure then switched to rattling, shallow diving minnow retrieved as fast as i could. first cast produced and so on and so on. if the Barracuda get a good take on the lure then it is pretty much ruined. the good thing about fast retrieves is that i often got hook-ups on the last treble meaning the lure was ok!

If you've really got to get them, I bought some from Don's of Edmonton (North London/0208 807 5219) a few years ago and you could try calling to see if they still stock them. I don't think they do mail order so it's the M25 or North Circ I'm afraid.

Otherwise they'd be a doddle to make with some heavy-duty wire, trebles and tubing.

Um ... I've never caught anything on them and find them poor to cast any distance but some people swear by them ...
Good luck

As others have mentioned they're not difficult to construct from surgical tubing - make sure you put a smallish barrel lead in its head end.

I've never had any difficult casting them with a fixed spool reel. If the 'cuda's cruising purposefully make sure you land the lure 20' away and immediately wind as quickly as you can, and just keep winding straight.

Occasionally, no matter how fast you wind, they'll just keep pace with it though. Those are almost impossible to convert in 'strikers'.

As J0hnb0y mentioned they will also take small Rapala type lures but I've always found it helps to break the plastic lip off. It runs true and doesn't create too much resistance when winding fast.

If you really don't fancy making them yourself you could order some from - http://www.captharry.com/index.php - in Miami and get them airmailed over. They're 'peanuts' - 2.50$US. I had a quick look at http://www.rokmax.com/ - web site. None came up in the product search but it might be worth a 'phone call or e-mail.

It may have been me

They are very easy to make I got some flourescent green and red tubing from that well known internet bidding site some small barrel leads and treble hooks from uk hooks.
when making them leave the tubing with a slight bend in it to allow them to wobble a bit

The easy way to make your own is to get some heavy duty earth cable, cut it into 6"" lengths split it down the middle and remove the wire.
get some 30lb wire trace fix a 3/0 treble to one end of the wire and whip a 3/0 single half way along the tube and decent sized swivel to the front end and join the two halves of the tube together with superglue.
The cuda love the green and yellow strip, the reason for the single in the middle is often the Cuda will take the lure in the middle and get caught by the big single.
Good Luck they only take a few minutes to make and are dirt cheap.
