i am going fishing this weekend for a all nighter and was wondering what sort of fish you are most likely to catch during 11pm-6am.
i will be using squid, mackerel and lug or rag worm for bait.
this is my first time going fishing all night.

Hi Beefcake,
I allways fished just past the turret, over the second drain to be precise, bloody heavy tide run however. Needed 8 oz.to hold in moderate tides. I found the trick was to fish in the same way that you uptide from a boat - cast well uptide let a belly of line form till your rod sets into a satisfying bend. Bites will be slack liners but the srength of the tide will soon put you in contact with the - hopefully- fish. Strike each time your rod springs back, it might just be the lead shifting bottom but it might just as easily be a fish. Breakaways are no good here -I found you needed fixed softish wires to hold but I suspect the leads with the wires sticking out the front will work.
Good luck mate.

John
