Sounds like a good session were you drift fishing? Only been out twice in the last month, caught a couple of schoolies but bass have yet to get going in the usual haunts:g: A sustained spell of westerlies would help. Were your bass any sort of size?

Hi Seymour,we paddled out to Demi, for the Bream, then decided to drift through the gullies towards La Hocq on Sunday, the biggest Bass was 5lb 4oz,4lb 7oz,the others went back safely, totally agree with you, could do with the westies, was out there today,3 & half lb,but very messy & choppy, all good fun.:fishing1::thumbs:

Nice one Wayne, also got out today, well this evening. Three hours of nothing then bang - 2 bass in two casts: one of 3lb and the other went just under five - also around the Green Island area. Really good to see they're about, i dont think i've ever played bass so hard to the side of the yak, first decent fish in about 20 hours of fishing. Tempted to try again tomorrow evening if the wind stays the same

I've never really tried the Jellies, but i'm hearing good things about them all the time, i'm often guilty of just sticking to my tried and tested plugs, but i've promised myself i'll experiment more this year. The bass i had the other night came on a Lucky Craft B'Freeze 127MR, a really cracking plug. Incidentally, when i gutted the fish they were chock full of hardback crab, not a fish to show in there. Also went Monday night, the wind had eased a lot, and so did the results to boot, just a 1.5 lb fish to show. Cracking evening for a paddle tho...

G'day Seymour, looks a nice lure mate, might have to give that a go myself,my favorite lure i keep using,a Duo tide minnow slim 125,i tried the tempest sidewinder sand ells 4 inch at the wkend, good distance casting and can cover all depths, had a few follows, but just the 1 Bass :fishing1:
