Does anyone have any information/suggestions on shore fishing - not boat fishing - in Hong Kong?
Understand that Victoria Harbour is fairly polluted but what about other parts of the island, or the outlying islands/NT? Any information on venues, tackle, baits, likley catch, tackle shops will be much appreciated.
Thanks.

Um ... I suspect you're going to find that everywhere that's accessible will also be somewhat polluted.
Some years ago I fished an international competition in Hawaii with a group of ex-pats based in Hong Kong from the Mandarin Sports Fishing Club. Although their interests were in offshore fishing they possibly might be able to come up with some shore fishing suggestions for you. You can contact them via their web site - http://www.msfc.com.hk/content/view/23/72/.

Thanks Dave. I'm due to be in Hong Kong in about ten days and am trying to get some local fishing websites translated before I go; my Cantonese is non existant.

Can't help with the fishing, but can make you virtually fluent in Cantonese...
Spelt phonetically rather than correctly...
"Chow san lowpan"
= "How are you doing boss?"
"Gung hey fachoy"
= "Happy new year"
That should just about cover everything, have fun over there.
