Bit late this report as I have only just found this section!

I got a WS Tarpon 130t for myself and the misses to get out and about in. It means I can fish and we can spend time together exploring the west cornwall coast, which keeps us both happy:clap3:.

Went out from Lamorna for our first proper fishing session last month before this spell of cr4p windy weather came in.

Had lots of Mackeral on a dexter and tinsels, just kept three as that was all we needed for dinner on the BBQ and a few nice pollack (only kept one for a fish pie) caught with Firetail Jelly Worms.

We are very pleased with the Yak. It is very stable, paddles well and tracks nicely. It is also nice and roomy for two people with plenty of space on deck to add accesories. I have since added a fishfinder and can't wait for the weather to improve so we can get out again.

Looking forward to doing some plugging for bass this summer and was also thinking about doing some livebaiting for them. Does anyone have any livebait system they use that they tow behind the Yak, I don't really want to have to cut any holes to create an onboard system?

Cheers

Vaughan

Nice pics Vaughan, it seems we all want some better yakking weather I had one launch in June and a few short sessions this month. Good luck when you do get back out.

One method of keeping eels on your yak is use one of the collapsible crab pots and just put it over the side with the eels in. You can get the nets at trago occasionally for £3.50

I use this:

It doubles as a sea floating anchor.

I fished down there for the first time on Saturday and caught one mackerel whilst spinning with tinsels. My mate and my brother caught three pollock each also spinning. Nothing caught on float even though a few bites were had. Nothing on bottom. Was a nice day. Went Penberth Cove first and caught nothing. It was a bit too rough there though. Spoke to a local at Lamorna and he said his pal had caught a few Ray down there from the wall. Would definitley go again but maybe at night. I tried for some conger down the wall with a flapper but nothing except a few 'weird' type of bites that resulted in a snapped 60LB trace? A good idea to try for conger at night I reckon. I want a kyak so I can go further out. Might see you down there some day mate, I'll look out for your kyak and give you a shout out!

Nice fish!

I've got an RTM Ocean duo for me and the wife, but it has a middle seat so i can take it oiut on my own.

I've only been in St Austell bay fisshing on it and ive had a couple of bass and some mackrell.

I like the idea of Lamorna, might give it a go!

I'll post some pics of my kayak if i can.
