Dreamin On is one of the most beautiful boats I've had the pleasure of being invited aboard.
She's a Garlington 78 and is owned by the Kaineth (spelling?, sorry Warren) family and captained by Randy Hodgkiss and crewed by first mate Lincoln.
All wonderful guys, who I had the fortune to meet whilst in Cape Verde recently.

The pics stem from me trying to find out where they are now in order to get a CD of the original pics out to them.
If anyone knows where the boat is. Say hello to the guys and see if you can get a postal address for me!

Dave

I wish she was mine.

I could just about manage to pay for the fuel from my marina to the harbour entrance in that baby

Well Tom I understand, from this post on another forum, 'the lads did well' in CV. Not quite in Zak's league though. Mind you not bad for 'first timers'!

..... On board, one of the founding fathers of the Marlin Magazine, Capt. Leland "Leisure Lee" Stevens. His goal? He looked to score 100 marlin in six weeks.

The crew with capt. Randy Hodgekiss, mate Lincoln Funk and the Keinath family wanted to help Capt. Lee to reach his goal. Well, some interesting reports from "Leisure Lee":

25 April: 3 blues in the range between 500 and 800 pounds released.

04 May: We had days, where the boat caught 10 Marlin, on one day we caught a tripleheader. Today we caught five and lost three at the boat. We estimate the fish two with 500, one with 400 and two in the 300s.

26. May: 10 Shots, hooked seven and released three. Next day, 11 shots with 7 releases. At this time I calculated...my best year ever had 61 and here in Cape Verde we had after fishing 25 days 71 Blue Marlin!!
28 May: We released a Grander

30 May: We released 10 blues out of 21 shots.

5 June: I just finished fishing with the Dreamīn On team here in Cape Verde Islands. Over a period of 31 fishing days we released 100 Blue Marlin and tagged more than 90. We fished three additional days and released 18 more. We hooked four grander and tagged one. We caught two estimated at 900-plus, several over 700 and quite a few over 500.

Um ... I wonder when the Yanks, other than them and of course Andy Fanter, are going to 'discover' CV's potential? I understand there're direct flights from Boston to Sal.

Spotted that Dave.
I had the pleasure in sharing a few hours with Lee Stevens in the little Cafe at Sal airport whilst awaiting our respective transfers.
Very nice guy, tried to flog us a few shirts from some mate of his that makes them... (you know, the type only an American could wear), but he made me feel like a pro by telling me how good my pictures were (not sure how honest he was being, but it made me feel good anyway).

Sounds like the and the boys have continued having a great time.

Good on them
Tom
