View Full Version : Howz about a charity match in aid of the RNLI at Orford.
I wish to fish Orford 1 more time in Oct before I move time to OZ, and and was wondering if anyone would be up for possibly a charity match in aid of the RNLI?
Please feel free to comment.

sounds like a good crack, as long as its before 20th october
I will post details later this week, but it will be the 2nd set of big tides on a Saturday, whenever that is?
Boat cost should be £7 or £8 depends if the fish are at the Crouch or Narrows.
The time of boat and still needs to be sorted.
£5 to enter with £2.50 going to heaviest cod and £2.50 which will be split between Southend and Aldborough live boat station.
Also maybe a possible raffle.

orford is a great place to get away from the normal life lol. dont have to be mad but it sure as hell helps, :bounce:, basically once on the island your there for the duration, unless pete does a return collection later on , fishing is either fantastic or hard work but with all this blow ups over past few days should bring the fish on , water is deep close in so you dont need to cast far, can be tempting to whack out passing the fish nunder your nose, ppack well prepared but as light as possible due to deep gravel all across the island. for further ideas of what to expect take look at reports from clean ups and some very nice pics

Sorry for the delay, of course your mate can.
With the condition looking in our favour, its looking good for some cod, maybe even a few big ones :)

Narrows :clap3::clap3: unless pete advices differently.
Where do we meet up for the boat at 7am? Google earth map reference appreciated as I don’t have satnav.
I've been planning a trip this weekend from Cambridge, B&B somewhere on the Norfolk coast Sat night, with a mate. I was going to start at Hunstanton (just because I'm familiar with that area) and work round to Yarmouth, but this sounds much more fun although we won't have had a chance to pump any bait before hand. If anyone is picking any bait up on Friday and could get some for me can you drop me a PM)
Anyone know how long it takes to get to the meeting place from Cambridge (nearer Huntingdon actually)?

When you hit the tiny town follow the road until you hit the water.
I recon it will take approx 2hrs
Thanks Rocket.
Now all I need is some bait, can anyone help me there? If not we'll have to skip and maybe catch some of you who make the Sunday match at Yarmouth instead!

pdcambs,
I travel in from Godmanchester, you need to allow an hour and three quarters to be safe, i can usually do Ipswich in about an hour but it's slow twisty roads from Woodbridge. See you there. If you need any squid i'm picking some up tomorrow £2 a box
