1000th post continues with part 2:clap2::clap2::clap2::clap2:

step 7
tie in white floss with a short piece over eye (dont worry about too much length as trimmed l8r)
http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c300/tack4/smokey%20bacon%20buzzer/buz7.jpg
step 8
secure the floss further and then double it back onits self and start to form a thorax
http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c300/tack4/smokey%20bacon%20buzzer/buz8.jpg
step 9
build up thorax thread only
http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c300/tack4/smokey%20bacon%20buzzer/buz9.jpg
step 10
tie in cheeks ( yellow strip near bottonm of crisp bag) colour side inwards
http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c300/tack4/smokey%20bacon%20buzzer/buz10.jpg
step 11
pull foils forward to form cheeks and secure
http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c300/tack4/smokey%20bacon%20buzzer/buz11.jpg
i find after a few tight wraps ot thread i can then nick a wee cut in foil and it then pulls off easier than trying a single cut. 8)
step 12
whip finish and varnish trim breathers to desired length
and....
hey presto mr lineker a smokey bacon buzzer

Good Post mate, will give it a try, my tying skills aren't amazing, my buzzers usually come out a little bit too fat, but will follow your carefull instruction and give it a go, now i have the task of deciding which flavour crisps i will require, I think prawn cocktail is quite apt!

have only just taken up fly fishing, and would eventually like to start tying my own flies(one of the appeals of the sport tbo)

do you have any advice on starter kits, or websites where I can get hold of supplies please??

Great post there tack.

I've used crisp packet's for the cheek's before (not whole one's ),i've never thought about using them for the body.

I'll give it a whirl next time i'm lashing some together!

Another few tips for fly tying.

If your tying booby's you can buy a pack of filter tips for fags and cut them into shape for the eyes and tie them on. Get like 120 eyes for around 80p.

Buy some clear set super glue. If your tying stuff like jungle cock dia bachs you can put a little on the feather to make it abit hardier wen a fish grabs it. Often wen u catch a fish on it the jungle cock will get damaged or split. Wack some glue on it and the fly will be as good as new and last alot longer.

If ur feeling abit fancy and wanna tie something like a sedge pattern with a realisitic wing you can get some waterproof celotape and put a feather face down on it. Woodcock feathers are particuarly good. Cut around the feather to the shape u want it, fold it in halve and tie it in just like any other wing. Looks really good, makes it that bit stronger and sits surprisingly well on the water.

Anyways, just thought this might help a few.
