hi
i am going boat fishing on saturday out of Dover and was wondering what you think the best bait would be to use.
what fish do you think i will catch (well what fish are down there)
i am going about mid-day.

Hi Beefcake,

Squid and more squid. There should be Doggies, Pouting and Whiting. With a little bit of luck you may even find a Cod or two. If the skipper anchors off a wreck you might, if you are lucky, encounter some Pollock or even a Conger.

If you catch a few pouting keep some of them for bait.

Dont forget the Crab Sticks!!!

if you can get some frozen mackerel in killibegs oil it's a killer for whiting in small stips on 1/0 hooks fihed on a paternoster bottom hook 1ft off the bottom 2nd hook 1ft above that. double shotting all day lol. have a good day m8

no i didn't go in the end - sorry for not telling you
the sea was to rough for the skipper.
i am going pier fishing of Dover (admiralty pier) on sunday so i will be trying them then.
