There is a meet at orford for the 2nd weekend in November (see the meet/match section) It has been on there for a while.

i think hythe would be good. i have been fihing it quite a bit lately and it has been quite good. fisherman's beach has good parking and lighting. a lot of cod and codling been coming up down there.

saturday 15th november is a good tide 7.2 at 23.54

you can fish low up which is when i found it produces better, then over high.

Hythe 'princes parade' sounds good. As Len says, Easy parking, fish almost from the back of your car, its the perfect venue for a get together, and quite central for a lot of us, and i doubt it would be packed as Dunge frequently is. Oh and the fishing can be as good as anywhere.
Have you got a date in mind.

Hythe sounds good to me. There should be more than enough room for most numbers along the Princess Parade (as apposed to West Parade and Fishermans beach which are smaller and often in use) The beach is clean and so are the fishing grounds.

And it's only a mile away from me :bleh:

Hythe is a lovely place to fish captin. It will suit you because you literally park your car beside the beach and set up 20yds from the car. I will try and post exact directions for you. Hows the Owl, have you mated her yet? I love Owl eggs. Yum yum.

What time should we aim to be there by. Need a time really, although we can turn up earlier. It would be a good idea to try and pick a space between say pegs 215 to 240 for example. If you get there early enough it could be pegged so as others would know that a meet/match was taking place and not fish in 'our spots'. It only needs a few bits of paper on the wall indicating this. Just an idea Wayne, not interferring.

Cant think where you mean!!! There not a car park along princes , only a small one at Twiss Groyne end or at the Little Chef at the other end. Nothing in between.

Princes Parade is a mile plus straight road. Runs parallel to to beach from Twiss groyne to the west to the Little Chef at the eastern end. Parking is on the roadside. Be easy to say for example.......East ,west, in the middle etc.

The best fishing is at the western end (twiss) when it is rough and to the east (Little Chef) when its calm.

Be easier just to put pieces of A4 paper at 10/15yd intervals on the wall with 'match 6pm' wrote on them. Put a pebble on them to hold in place. Any person parking along the road will then see what is happening before getting thier gear out. Just a suggestion. Sorry, im interfering arent i. Will shut up now.:shutup:

I usually (and enjoy) using two rods if the conditons are ok and it's not crowded; one out, one big pennel in.
I don't mind paying for using two rods, i'm going for the meet, a laugh and fishing with some good company.

Me aswel maybe. Had a lift planned with someone else who was going down there but he cant go now, not his doing, just bad timing. So that leaves me stuck. See how the £££ situation is 2moro and if i can afford to sort my car out before saturday then might drive down there on my own.

We got down there around half three/ four o'clock and dished out the fleeces to those that had arrived, had a chat and a cuppa, then took some photos whilst Leadbeatter got the barbie going,

Just spoken to leadbeatter, he reports lots of fish being caught, the biggest so far, a codling of about 3lb, caught on a squid/prawn cocktail
