Well after such a good turn out and the demand for another meet i suppose i better try and sort another one out so hows about the 13th of december its a saturday good tides, high tide at ramsgate is 23.53 so give or take of bit for sandwich ,deal ,dover and so on.It should be cold by then and we should start seeing a few more cod (ling)_not saying that theres none about at the mo but they just wasnt out to play in numbers for the last meet .
So come on then lads lets have some venues to think about dunge,denge,sandwich bay ,deal beach,deal pier ,addy pier,etc>>>>>>>>>Of course if we fish a pier it would be more money per head but we could do a 1st "nd and 3rd so that way more people get a slice.
If we fish a beach lets say £10 a head to make it intresting 1st prize cash second prize a new Daiwa 7ht mag or an abu 6500 c3ct see what happens 3rd prize an ian golds rig wallet with some tackle/terminal tackle WE NEED ABOUT 30 TO ATTEND BUT IF MORE GREAT AND YES I WILL DO FOOD /DRINk

Personally, i’m not a pier fisherman but would defo be up for another meet.
I don’t mind where too much but i think it would be better for attendance if it was somewhere that had parking fairly close; for us old, unfit ones and those who like to take all but the kitchen sink. And maybe somewhere that the predominantly South Westerly’s would not ruin with wind or weed, if it were a bit rough.

How about a Deal venue: Boundary/Cecil Rd, or Walmer.
Plenty of parking, loads of room and close to the beach.

Like the idea of a flounder match but most flounder venues u will only get a few hours fishing as they are generally shaolw venues,surly with a meet like this you wana make the most of the night and the travelling. id say sandwich bay but would parking be a problem???

Where abouts at sandwich are we fishing. Aint been there for a while. Can you park along Princes Drive in front of the Royal St Georges golf club. Thats Sandwich Bay. Or do you mean the other end towards Sandown and the Royal Cinque ports golf club parking along Golf Rd. Posting directions may be a good thing so as we all meet at the same place! :unsure:

31 people so far GREAT but i have decided to do 1st 2nd and 3rd place all cash due to people living in all different areas so i will be taking the money for the food and the rest is for the biggest cod 1st 2nd and 3rd the parking will be along the top of the sea wall so cars are safe and not to far to walk kick off 18.00 untill 02.00 weigh in at 02.30 Only 2 rods 2 hooks a rod.COD ONLY NO OTHER FISH TO BE WEIGHED IN

didn't do any fishing but they were there pipe fish small red snappers and sum silver flat fish on one day there where rays[stings i think] swimming no more than 20yrds out and 1 came rite in close bout foot of water people soon got out nice to see the tips of there wings just breaking surface if only i belived in camera's wud of had some nice shots also there where some bigger fish leaping out of water was told by a local they where baracuda's

yes people have to come and sign in and pay there money before they start fishing the size limit is 35cm for a cod and pennel is two hooks and like i said cod only biggest cod first ,second and third no other fish to be weighed in and fish must be signed for by neighbour cheers wayne oh and food will be done for 17.30 and then whats left for after hope this is ok with everyone

A few people asking for directions, coming in from Deal;
Drive past the pier along the seafront, (Beach St), then keep going to the end of the road towards Sandown,(about a mile or so), bear left into (Godwyn Rd), follow to the end and turn right onto Golf Rd. Where from there. Or am i in the wrong place.
Could i not just drive on top of seawall along Sandown with the golf coarse to my left.

Well, i not been out fishing for over a week or more now. I dosed up with the flu, coughing me heart up, Got a chronic back ache and me kidney's hurt, i got other 'serious' probs as well ( as some of you know). On top of that my partner has just put her back out and the ol' boy (son) has been laid up from school all week.
I feel rubbish..........
All said, i managed to drive a round trip of 80miles today to pick up my bait for the meet.
I dont care what happens tomorrow, gales, rain, snow, ill heath etc..... If the good lord's willing and the creek dont rise I WILL BE THERE.
So come on guys, get your wet weather gear etc and get out there, make it a good meet.

well lads, we wimped out, me and czar went down to the meet, went over and had a look said hello to the lads ( nice to see you again 'supercast') it was blowing a hooligan but there was still a good turn-out but we went back to the motor looked at each other and said 'bugger that' and drove off into the night with our tails between our legs. so to the die-hards who stayed...... we salute you.....and goodluck......jeff1960 (king wimp)

juff won it n unless someone else got 1 ryehorse was second when i left, no idea who came third. weren't a lot about fish wise, plenny of weed, that mixed wiv strong tides made the fishin hard goin, i didnt even bother settin up, just went n chatted to em. Sayin that, i think all who went kinda enjoyed themselves

i packed up about half twelve the cold and weed just got to much i got there about two in afternoon and was a great turn out was nice to meet alot more people
with rye horse hiding in his tent squidley asleep in his car leadbeeter was the only one wide awake untill the match started then he died lol i had 4 little whiting also cheers wayne for lending me ya beach buddy and spratdab for helping with me weights oh and drink stella not petrol cheers guys good day out:bounce::bounce::bounce:

Nice to meet you all, had a good natter round the fire and some lovely burgers and food. The conditions looked almost impossible to fish with strong tides 40mph gusts+rain all going down the beach in the same direction along with lead and tackle ,Me and Essexdangler didn,t even set up the rods just had a laugh ,drink and chat round the fire. Lots of respect for Wayne and Squidly. had a good evening anyway and hats off to the people who did fish , I hear the wind dropped at Midnight and fish where caught. Cheers

Conditions were a bit rough with odd showers and winds somewhere up to the 35 mph range (at a guess), strong tide and loose weed made staying out straight for any time virtually impossible (until just after midnight when it died down to nothing at all) so not many fish were caught, unfortunately.

Surprisingly good turn out (including some just visiting) under such conditions, it was good to meet some new faces, also good say hello again to some met before. Good company; great time.

Juff did indeed win, just, with Squiddley and Horse joint second.

A big thank you goes to Wayne for organising and getting the grub etc for this meet. And another big thanks to Squiddley, Wayne and Horse for looking after me from Friday afternoon until Sunday am, the laughs and the outstanding company. Cheers guys, you are legends :notworthy

Hope all went well for those staying on, and those moving on to Dungey, Deal, etc, look forward to meeting you all again at the next one :thumbs:

Yeah, sorry i couldnt say hello when we first went out.. had to go look for a cook who was MoB on the channel.. Did think it must have been you guys there, looked like a right little camp... Did get the operator to take some pictures, but they were w**k.. good to know he can do his job well!
