I will get back to you soon with some information shortly
hi jambo, just stumbled across these posts this morning - I would also be interested to hear a recednt catch report for the Island. Noticed a few folk lure fishing on the sth east coast on this mornings high tide ... looked pretty cold to me!!
You mean up by Green Island, or along the front?
I reckon North coast is better in the winter, and easier from the piers etc.
more like b/w green island and gorey - have heard there were some big bass caught on the nth coast just b/f christmas on lures. There seem to be some rays etc. being caught from Plemont Point. Way too cold today ...

Depending on when your planning from September to December is best and Jan and Feb are normally quiet months so you would have to try harder then.
If you are thinking of coming now you should be able to catch Pollack, Pout, Ray, Mullet, Wrasse, Bass in double figures (possibly record breaking from the boats), sole, a late black or red bream in Jan, garfish, dogfish, bull huss and plaice.
Apparently 2005 sea temp was 1degree up on normally so it could be a good winter unless the colds spells have re-arranged things.
The above applies to Guernsey but I'm sure Jersey and Alderney are similar.

For Guernsey we have this privately run site and the forums are fairly active with news of catches:
http://www.fishing-guernsey.co.uk/
I've not found a Jersey site for the same but Jambo might know of one?
I have been at these things fow a while, and this is about the most specific forum I have found for Jersey! You guys in Guernsey have it well sorted on that front.

The only Help I can give you for Jersey Fishing is a very Pathetic one I am afraid
and you have to go to,
http://www.gov.je
go to Fishing clubs Directory in (Sport and Leisure),by the way I already have that Website on my links page on jambojersey .The Front Page of the Jersey evening Post today Saturday 21 January 2006 (Can the Tourism Industry bring back the Visitors ?)(Tourism in the Future will be different) don't let that news put you off of Fishing in Jersey the Fishing is good most of the year weather permitting some good bait beds, and by the way the tackle shop in the fish market is now only open on Monday/Friday/Saturday during the early part of the year "Sign of the Times "I hope not.The other shop in Green Street is open monday to saturday,I wish you luck and good Fishing in Jersey.I asked for permission to post the tides and was told you cannot do that owing to copyrights laws what a load of bunkum.I just hope no lives are lost when People go low water fishing in Jersey. But it's the same old story shut the door after the horse(Tourist) has bolted.
The new arm at la collete has produce some good wrasse at high tide with either ragworm or squid head or crab. But also at low tide (as the sea is always there) there is some excellent mullet fishing best baits are small fry or bread with consant chirvy being throw in. Another place i no is at st aubin's pier i have had some excellent flounder of there my biggest 2lb 4oz the best baits are worm of any sort on a running ledger . jared dowinton
Mark at the tackle shop does good reports on whats happening in Alderney. try www.alderneyangling.com
