WSF Boat Bass Lure Challenge 2009 [Archive]

So here is the 2009 Boat bass challenge. £10 in and same rules as the shore one but this one is from anything afloat. So yes kayaks are allowed.

Fish to be caught on any lure and to be photo'ed against a measure.

Last years winner was Bob Jameson with a plug caught bass of 9lb 8oz and 75cm

Yes Tom, I am opening it to everything as there were some guys put off last year cos they couldn't use softies or pirks. I think it'll probably be won be a pirk but hey. So it's any artificial at all. Once I have your tenner you are in.

Not bothered by pirks (the odd butterfly jig maybe), but I don't do a lot of bait fishing and most of mine is with soft plastics so I may be up for this...
Have to try and get the boat out a bit more next year.

Where does my tenner need to go?

I reckon it'll help for a bit of amusement over 2009.
Certainly better value than a playstation game I bought for a tenner of that auction site. I was bored by the time it had loaded.

At least a tenner on this will provide a whole year of fun even if I have zero hope of winning!

The way the UK's economy is going, let's hope the end of 2009 prize fund will be even remotely worth what it is today. I have suggested that it isn't banked just in case. It might disappear up Monsieur Le Brun's chuff like our mortgages, pensions and savings.

Never mind, eh.

I presented Bob with his winning hip flask on saturday, a well deserved prize indeed. Now the comps are up here in their own section it seems to have quietened down a bit, we must remember these are up here, and get some more guys to sign up for them.

Still fishing from the kayak, I went out on Friday evening for the comp and had 3 fish up to 3lbish. I had to come back in after 45mins though as it was a bit too hairy to be out on my own!

Well went out today , for a bumble with mrfish we had a good morning

Taking 9 fish in total , from 2lb up to my pb 77cm 10lb bass

Well another comp ends 77cm 10lb off the top for me :fishing:

Never did i think i would get this 2yrs on the trot , it has been a strange
year , lots of small bass , most of the season until late on :rtfm:

Thanks joe , taking that fish late season was a big bonus for me,
never even thought of such a speciemen topwater ,
