Took the missus on a remote fishing trip yesterday (40 mile from home, but we live remote anyway). Miles from anywhere on Hammersley beach, tucked away in Fitzgerald National Park, WA. There is a river there that is landlocked and only breaks out to the sea every 5 - 10 years. Well it broke thru last week. Big shark / mulloway / snapper city surely..... Off we went in the land rover, smahing down tiny bush tracks, across massive sand dunes, down rocky escarpments and finally onto the wild Hammersley. Not a soul there; beautiful day, gutters n holes visible; schools of salmon only 4m out. Perfect. OH, WHATS THIS????? Seems to be lots of fluid ****ing out from underneath. Oh no. Header tank is cracked. We now have no coolant. 40*C, no coolant, 2L water, 6 beers and a bottle of champers. And no mobile phone signal for miles. You can imagine the missus reaction. WE ARE GOING TO DIE YOU ASSHOLE. Cut a long story short, the 2 L of water and many stops to let the engine cool down we finally made our way out to a gravel road. Who do we manage to flag down?? A campervan full of germans. Good lads; gave us about 20L water to fill radiator. Managed to get us almost all the way home (had to stop, drink beer and wait for more samaritans). Car now being fixed.

All that and we didn't even get a line wet..... Will have to wait for the new year now as I started work again Xmas day. Off again N Y Eve for a week.

Better luck next time baby... And yes Tom, it voz vundabar to see ze germans rock up. Hope thay enjoyed the garden..

Heres a piccie of the early evening
