Hi to bald and karldood .
It would be very nice to give you some good news but the fishing scene in jersey does not get much better year by year .The long forgotten Fishing Tourist Attraction is just that my friends pretty dormant I'm afraid .I had an enquiry just last week from a German film crew about coming to Jersey in March-April with the German Angling Magazine Rute and Rolle( Rod and Reel )travelling with a Travel Bureau wanting to write about Jersey and make a film about Angling ,they have invited me to join them so at least there is something to look forward to.
We have two very well established Charter boats Fishing out of St Helier Harbour Anna II and Tarka both are posted on my links page on www.jambojersey.com
just above www.worldseafishing.com .A buddy went to St Katherine's Breakwater yesterday but he didn't have any luck he tried frozen baits .The Lure is producing more fish than most other shore fishing methods best on low water .Quite a few fishermen make a bit of pocket money lure fishing from their boats in the summer But I can only recommend you leave your fishing till the month of May is out very sorry about that yours kindly

News from Guernsey is very little off the shore except for doggies and small pollack, mullet are around but proving a little elusive to catch and the bass have started returning to breed so they should be moving inshore to feed soon providing they don't get wiped out."STAY OFF THE BREEDING GROUNDS PLEASE"

I haven't been fishing since November so very little else to report at the moment.

Thansk for the replies - haven't been out myself since Nov either - there's been a number of boats fishing out of Jersey's Sth East coast mainly in the bay at Grouville etc. I wonder what there after, bass I presume. Guess that's it for Jersey until late Spring ... would beach casting St Ouens be worthwhile? Jambo, the boat trip sounds good - could have made a bit of pocket money myself with the lures last summer boat fishing for bass, however had more luck with live Sandeels - still waiting to crack the 10lb mark :rolleyes:

Hi mick in tackle shop went last night to Plemont had a few nice fish saw a nice Photo on his Mobile of a fair sized Ray he said it was a bit iffy with the swell rising and falling so awkwardly so don't advise it unless you know your tides and area very very well good luck if you go.Grouville Bay is excellent for bass around the little Island just past the oyster beds produces quite a few bass regularly on lures .

I went out to Plemont the other night, but to no avail! Surf was fairly heavy, and it was a long walk, but good to get back out again.
