all to local lads--hull,bridlington etc
i used to fish them but it was a lottery due to the locals over there bedding out for the night before in the "hotspots "tripods out:sneaky2: then going down in the morning to book on.therefore giving other lads no chance-yes it is a big event but its normally top twenty local lads has it is too big to peg.

as Ive always said its the taking part that matters ..............winning is a bonus ,

whats with the negative attitudes its a good couple of days out plenty of fresh air and the chance to win something ,

if some want to take it serious then its up to them fishing for me is a hobby and something i enjoy ...............

fishing is a pleasure not a chore when i become as serious as some take it ..................then I'll give up

FISHED BRID FOR A LONG TIME NOW, GOOD TIP GO DAY BEFORE THE MATCH, LOOK FOR GOOD GULLIES IN CLOSE, AND SOMEWHERE TO FISH ON CLAY BANK, PREFERABLE HALF WAY DOWN.

I will be fishing the competition fished for a few years, most of the local lads are in the top 10 but mainly down to it being their local marks & Knowledge of the marks that usually gets them in the top 10. For me it a pleasurable trip a weekend fishing with the possibilty of maybe squeezing one of the local lads out of the top ten i normaly camp out of sleep in the car to tight to book into hotel. The only pain is if you actualy catch & try weighing in the parking & standing in line are horrendous.

its a massive match i fish it every year, cant make this year though, its not locals that win normally with it being over such a long coast anyone can win, the fish are normally very localised so if your on them you catch if not you dont, its a great weekend for fishing and a great 3 nights out at the caravan park.

Its run at this time of year because there wont be so many fish about, it would take all night to weigh in if everyone caught !

the get downs are iffy in places its all clay cliffs so do your homework and sort out where your fishing and how to get there before the match day, watch out for light coloured patches on the cliffs you will get stuck and need pulling / diging out, i've seen it happen to many times, just walk on the dark stuff.

cant you get your car sand blasted anywhere if your daft enough to leave it parked on a sand spit in a gale ?

I have enjoyed every trip over there and am very sad about missing this year but it was brid or belize and guess which won !

i'd fish hilston or tunstall unless its rough then i'd fish of the tops and aldborough, allways a few cod at all those marks, dont fish spurn it will be packed all the way along, strong tide rips there so it means when you get in the water someone will be dragging you straight back in !

anyone wanting to partake/meet up on the trip please pm steve as this thread had started to turn bitchy with a sly dig thrown in for good measure

so before it turns into a slanging match with people saying things they would regret later i'll close the thread ,
