Coming from Suffolk and now living in SE London, i'd be up for this depending on the date. April 11th was mooted on the East Coast forum?

Be a great time to fish Orford, can catch all the winter and summer species on the same day, fingers crossed the spring run will be as good as last year.

Cheers

This is my plan for the meet, I have PM Cambs John

My ideas, 1 rod 2 hooks max (unless its a poor turnout then 2 rods 4 hooks).

2 prizes for individuals biggest fish and biggest bag. Either a 50-50 split or a 60-40 (60% biggest fish)

£5 to enter for the pools (thats £5 max) ** The comp is free fishing the pools is optional

All fish over a certain size to count say 40cm** Agreed on 45cm

As for team winners if you have 10 anglers and we have 20 then our 1st, 3rd 5th and so on anglers count, then average per team. ** This is for me to work out whos scores count and those who don't

As for away leg I would be thinking of Gravesend a month later with bass and flounder the main fish.

I have also asked that people with mobility or health issues get the 1st boat over so they have less walking. Also those have travelled the furthest get the 1st boat back as they can get away quicker.
Hope you are all happy with that

Just a thought, but if this was merged with the beach clean, what a double result. The beach clean is not attracting big numbers, and as a result there wont be much of the anglers sh*te moved. But it seems that the fishing without the clean is hugely popular. Have a social concience and merge the two......!!

Just checked the tide books, the week after its very small tides 4.4 at southend and evening tides which is no good, the week after is the ray meet so thats a no go and I dont think the cod will be around much after that.

Hi Jason - what time is the meeting running from and to and how much is the ferry?

The boat usually goes around 07.30 and its under a £10 for a ferry.
I will confirm the time when I manage to get hold of Pete

jassyfa
02-04-2009, 17:47
Boat is leavign at 09.00 and returning to pick us up at 17.45. However it is the crouch we are fishing as Pete has taken loads of bookings for the narrows and he only has room for a few on the first boat, which means we will be scattered all over the narrows
