Any chance of a google maps link or summat similar Rauri? Will probably come up on the Friday afternoon. Camping nearby?
if you dont need running water etc then you could prob camp in the car park (i use the term losely....is a grassy area)
will get the map link just now when i figure out how to get one that stays zoomed in :roll1:
dammit, what happened to that map gus had in the old threads with the car park marked.......
Back to the brekkie thing, I'll let Rauri explain what happened last time!!! :marinheir
If you're camping, I can easily take supplys out to you..I got sweet fa to do on Friday nights anyhow! (Unless fishing offcourse) :bye1:

hey last brekkie (cruden bay) lasted me till 11am :roll1: what one you on about??
9am will be fine...what with the waiting time at mcds....mind you golden grill should be open.......
I have to drive through Mintlaw(I stay about 1 minute away from Aden), so I can easily take you out towards Scotstown.
It's a country park, so if u dont mind deer/foxes/badgers/rabbits and the odd local ned wandering about..you'll be fine. In may, the place will be heaving with campers/caravans etc

As a quick aside, any thoughts about doing a bait order for the Meet if people want fresh live lug and/or rag as it'd be available to collect the day before and people can pick it up at the Meet, cash up front obviously...

Cheers for the links/maps wooky, will probably stay on the closest campsite. Thanks for the offer manny, but i'll just bring supplies up with me (mainly tennants) usual baits apply, like fish and worm and 3 hook flappers?
Here's the new (well new to me) wheels.

Lol.... i think that was a one off rauri,, but it would be nice if everybody caught a good head of fish. They certainly seemed to like the Fife worms and fishbaits...
It was great to meet everybody last year as well,, hopefully meet up again this time and also see some new faces...
I will have to let rincewind catch a few fish in the coming weeks to ensure i get a lift.lol...

Hi Guys - new to the forum
Which part of the beach is good for turbot - is it the bit to the north or south of Scotston head?
What's the best time to go? first 2 hours of flow?
Out today at Portnockie breakwater - couple of hours with the kids - zip all. We went there last year and had a few nice pollack, maybe a bit early.
to the north or south should produce altho i prefer to the peterhead side.as for state of tide.....it really varies, some days it fishes best on the drop, others on the flood

hard to say, last time everyone was gone by 4ish....apart from me,i toughed it out till the back o 7 in the rain ,personally il be taking 2 of lug and 1 rag and some mackie (fishing 2 rods with 2-3 hook rigs) coz the ones ive had previously lived happily for nearly 2 weeks after buyin them so if i dont use em on the sat i will on the sunday, depends how many rods and how often you change bait i suppose

Fished Scotstown tonight with Grumpa, Udderman, Rauri & Gus... A couple of Turbot showed themselves (both the me) largest was a 1lb, which Grumpa is having for breakfast due to being deeply hooked and there were a few Flounder caught, but nothing to shout home about, but the Turbo's are there ;) hopefully there'll be a few more of the buggers next weekend ;)
The last meet i fished up here rangers were playing celtic and they won 4-2
we appear to have picked an auld firm day again !!!!!!!! lets hope its a better result this time.lol...

Well - wild horses aren't going to stop my loon from getting to this meet - he's told everyone about it - even the teachers at school! He's 10 so company for any other kids that are tagging along.
I'll just take bluey and squid for bait - hope that's OK, maybe a mack too.
Just to kep me right - we're fishing the beach across the dunes from the graveyard (dirt road from Kirkton I think) - not from the parking place further north, nearer to the gas plant, at Scotstown itself?
2/3 hook flapper rigs OK for Turbot?

Metcheck has a similar forecast, without the electrical bits - 2 to 3 seasons in one day. Do the wee bars below the fishy pictures suggest our chance of catching is slim to b*gger-all?
The local guys will keep us right, but if the wind stays westerly it should be on our backs if not right over our heads because of the height of the dunes. I just hope that the dreaded kelp stalks don't make an appearance!
that shouldnt be a prob, not been enough swell to get the weed on the go
is there no other beaches just incase
aye if its really that bad there is,bit more sheltered but will be a bit cramped.....nae turbos there tho just flounder, caolie, rockling and silver things

 one bar from 5 means findus will land 20% of the fish??
is it maybe how many bars reception the fish will be gettin on their mobiles? one bar means it will be hard to call their mates? :lmao:
id wouldnt worry about the forecast yet,its peterhead.best bet is checking it first thing sat morning and even then theres a 75% chance something else alltogether will happen :victory:
Good thing about camping on dunes, you're pretty much guaranteed a spot out of the wind.
Weather is changing all the time at the moment, and we've still got almost 2 days worth to go! No doubt there will be updates throughout tonight and all day tommorow!
*EDIT* supposidly it was ment to be dull/wet and horrible today...so far blue skies, odd cloud, fair wind but it's still warm!

Wow - 54mph WSW winds! Looking at those maps, I think we should leave our rods at home and just bring handlines!
That was the wind earlier today - the wind for Saturday is 18mph or so and dropping, so in line with the FishingWX forecast, but no doubt it'll change again before Saturday

Well, it's a beautiful day in Aberdeenshire, with blue skies and high cloud. The weather forecast is reasonable, so here's hoping it's accurate and we have a nice day for it.
There's only one cloud on the horizon really - I forgot to pack Paul's rods!
We didn't notice on the road up and he's not up out his scratcher yet, so ignorance is bliss! For a wee while anyway! Oops!
I wonder if any angling shops in Peterhead open early? Either that or we're down to one rod each and the flounder/turbot tactics are oot the windae!
we'r on the way now typin whilst driving in car lookin for findus on the way
Have a good one today lad's :fishing:
