View Full Version : Cornish Plugging Meet

Alot of guys on here are dying to get out and fish with others members on here to improve their techniques and to up their catch rate. So lets do it guys.
I can supply the venue, if you guys want and i am thinking about the 10th of October which is the Saturday,
Its only about 50 yards from the car to the sea and there is a nice public house up the road for a bite to eat, all walking distance.
The area lends itself to all types of plugging, there is a rocky section with shallow rocks just under the surface ideal for surface work and there is plenty of deep water to the right for deep diving and soft plastics.
The location is going to be west Cornwall and all are welcome, when we have numbers on here i will Pm the location.
Just got my pass from the wife so count me in please.:1a:
Be a laugh and will be nice to meet up with people who share the same interest.:bounce:

guns, i'm planning on a sunrise trip to the gut on saturday, so we can sort out travelling arrangements then if you like. i'm sure i'll speak to you sometime soon anyway.

The 10th is good for me, and west cornwall even better. I hope its not one of my patches Nath!! Ha ha just kidding. Will be great to meet up with a few of you and have some bass on the surface lures :bounce:

just a quick one out side KFC in jersey at the mo on the iPhone, wife phones ealier saying she has organised something for the weekend coming 10th! But I think it's for the evening..!!! I hope anyway but that should still us leave the day, I better get brave and tell her I am fishing...doh! Fishing over here is so hard...to say the least!! I am shattered, I will phone her now and find out the times of her thing then I will get back to ya

I can only fish until one and I have to take one of my boys is the conditions... At least I can get out! Can some one check tides and weather for Saturday ........BEN , thanks mate, for Falmouth area.

Yep, looks to me like High tide is at 10.10am (5.9m) and the following low is at 4.11pm (2.0m). How early are we gonna need to be there mate? Not to catch the 3.40am low I hope!!! :roll1:
Somebody closer may have more accurate tides, but thats from the normal, yellow Cornish Coast table.

This is to much wind for the location i was going to take you guys if it stays at a South westerly But it is going to switch through the morning to a North easterly which will sort the issue out, i dont want to much wind in our faces as this Meet is more to iron out any issues we all might have and to look at ways of improving our fishing.
So i would prefer to leave it closer to the time thursday or friday to say for sure as the wind could change again.

I have a back up mark close by just in case, both marks fish very well and have had some nice fish to 1lb....:roll1:
I can only fish until about 2pm
and it would be good if we could meet really for 6am but if this is too early then 7pm:whistling

I think its just u and me ben....lol i had 13 bass today 2 biggest where just over 5lb, plus these: 4lb 14oz, 4lb 8oz 4lb2 and loads under that but 13 in total, i kept the 4lb 8oz for the table and put all the other fish back, i've taken photos so i will show u when i see u matee:victory:

I put the post code through the AA route planner through to find the location and............. Wow that is a long way down. My mate Jez I fish with, I don't think is available to come now, so I am still in two minds

Haha, no worries. Just got back in after fishing about 90 mins this morning. Wind is easterly (personally quite like it like that) but the sea is absolutely flat calm and the tide pretty weak. Managed to land 2. Biggest about 2.5lb.

Unfortunately I am going to have to raincheck this one, due to problems with my sons personal assistants.
Gutted, but I would definately like to tag along to any future meets, if that is ok.

I will be taking my 9 year old son also as he wants to try out his new bushwacker and reel that i won him at weymouth...so hes really excited but i dont think he knows about the early start........:sleeping::yahoo:

Just myself, Navman, Stormryder, Dragonpower and 9 year old Jacob. Got there at dawn and Nath kindly sent Navman and myself out to the favoured area while he unloaded the kayak so he could have a bit of a bob around to start with.
Overall it was pretty slow but Navman ended with 2 fish, myself with 1 and Dragonpower eventually caught up with the biggest of the day at about 3lb. I have got a few good pics but stupidly left my camera in Nathans van. Booooooooo! I'll put a few up when we're reunited.
I'm sure we'll all do the same again soon! More welcome to tag along to the next one. Quite a laugh.
