Hi All,
What is the best setup and what do you advise for a twin battery charging circuit. It's going to be fitted in a mates Arvor, any coments on split charge relays would be welcome.
Cheers Steve
You need a battery management system like the ones listed here:-
http://www.sterling-power.com/
Or you can use a changeover switch like 60510 here:-

If you used the changeover switch you have to remember which battery you are on and how much charge you have put into it. Also do not change over when the engine is running.
A volt meter on each battery will give you a good idea on it's state of charge.

Chris,
Thanks for the very handy links. Do you know if the rating of the sterling split charge relay has to be the same rating as the battery amps or the current drawn off the battery, (Ie: 110 amphr battery = 130amp split charge relay)?
Thanks Steve
I have given the spec of the boat to Sterling and they suggest the right one. They are the experts, best left to them.
