:) Me martyboy and bigpirk will be landing on the shores of norway a week on monday. We are staying on the island of seloy which is on the opposite side of the fjord from radoy so we aren't to far away from were youll be staying.Staying for 8 days so will be posting when we get back. What we will probably do is post daily giving a blow by blow account of each day just to make it interesting. Wether its good fishing or bad it'll be honest.Taking a camera each so there should be plenty of pics.:) :) :)
good luck kid i hope you get some of the biguns but leave some for us for when we get there

Hi again Halken.
I have been fishing a bit after seatrouth lately so I haven’t been baiting to much. The weather hasn’t been helping out to much either…. But the most fun in this winter was on last Thursday when we were 4 from the www.fiskersiden.no site that met on a harbour in the middle of Bergen for some night fishing. There hade been caught an 13kg ling there two weeks ago so we thought we should give it a try. The fishing was surprisingly good to bee in the middle of the city. And we caught 2lings from 2-4lb 5 or 6 haddocks at the same size plus a cod at 6-7lb but the coolest part for specimen anglers was the Chimaera monstrosa (don’t know the English name for it.) which is a wary special looking fish. Two of them get on land from 1,5lb to 4lb and a bigger one was lost at the surface. There are pictures at my site so maybe some of you know the species? So even as we didn’t catch any big fish it was a nice night in the city :)

That’s the fish. Quite cool looking fish! Watch out for the spike on the top fin. If you get stung it might be your last fishing trip….

Thats right. The fish we have cought thats cald rabitfish is Chimaera monstrosa in latin, and belongs to the Chimaeridae family. It`s a deepsea fish/shark (its abit difficult seens it is between sharks and bonefishes in the systematics) and you find it generally between 300 and 500 m depth. Usually found in deeper waters in southern latitudes, while making a summer inshore migration up to 40-100 m in the northern areas.

Her is an little update. we went on a littel tripp to se if we could get som flounders. And this time it turned out quite good.
http://sportsfiske.nu/foto/arkiv/2009/4782_s.jpg
Aasmund`s 992g (close to the norwegian reckord)
http://sportsfiske.nu/foto/arkiv/2009/4783_s.jpg
not as bigg but im happy (770g)
After the flati fishing we tried after som ling and other deep living things
that resultet in a tusk of 3,7kg and this ling at 4,7kg.
http://sportsfiske.nu/foto/arkiv/2009/4784_s.jpg
Ling and a tierd person.... 4,7kg.
http://sportsfiske.nu/foto/arkiv/2009/4785_s.jpg
The bait worked (a hole smal makrell)
so the total of 6 people was:
5 Lings: > 4,7 kg
2 Tusks: >3,6 kg
4 Cods: > 2 kg
3 Grey gurnard: >400g
5 Sand dab: biggest >0,992.
3 Fluke: >880g
I dont have pictures of rest of the fish but they will end upp here after the rest of the guys gets their sleep:) http://fiskersiden.no/forum/index.php?showtopic=14800&st=0&gopid=180029&#entry180029
Very nice photos. Keep up the good work. Looks as if the fish are coming onshore by themselves, at least by the number and sizes u constantly show us.
Tell Oz that his 2 lb flounder look like a million dollar (errhh.. GBP)
well don jan another great session.
