I've been quoted £160 for a rev counter to fit a Tohatsu twin 2 stroke 30hp EML 301.
After I got my breath back I thought that there must be something cheaper on the market that would do the job, but I don't know what to look for.

Any help, advice or info would be greatly appreciated

If you have an idea how these work it is not difficult to get one from a car breakers which is triggered from the coil, as long as it is adjustable for the number of cylinders on your engine and the ignition sytem is not a lost spark type you can mod it to fit the boat.
