okay all boat booked for 8am sat 13th march and returning either 8 pm sat evening or sunday 8/9 am for those wishing to return earlier or later,,,,,, please let me know for deffinate what boat your wanting to get so i can confirm numbers, cheers all bring on the fishies
crouch , this one would be a recorded event so we need lots and lots of peeps, ive spoken to dave on the island and what he would like is a group to work behind him clearing rubbish up at hedges on crouch foot path as he chainsaws a path through, the nesting season is late march onwards hence getting clearing up done. as per previous events will edit first post with all up to date details to save searching. any one is welcome to join in a great and worth while event , this is not a serious match just a chance to get together with fellow minded people to clear up a nature reserve and fish a fantastic spot , what more can you ask for ,,, well apart from catching a decent fish ( sorry cant guarantee that ) .
plan will be get all gear accross as usual and then set up high tide is early i think .,sorry still havent managed to get tide table, best bet would be have couple hours fish then clear up say couple hours before low tide , as said i need this one registered so teaming up in pairs or threes, ive spoken to dave at the island and he cant make it so asked if a few of us could clear up around the hedge near foot path, volunteers please lol,,,, would also like a few to clear along the footpath
river side as it was very messy last time, dave has agreed to collect the rubbish from same location as last time so no lugging the stuff miles .....
volunteers so far

I can do any March weekend mate. Put Marlowmick and PoutMagnet down as well. Don't mind Crouch or Narrows now that I've just seen the "secret map"!;)
We've probably got more work to do on the river-side of the Crouch?
Just seen the SE lads are organising this:

Feb is too soon in my opinion, March looks out already, Early April then maybe, although if the Spring run is in full swing then it will be packed. Someone with a decent tide table could suggest a big tide in April maybe, haven't got one myself as i've been a bit lacking in the fishing stakes lately

PoutMagnet and I can't do the weekend of April the 18th as we're at the George Thornley Meet with the SE Forum.:fishing1:

You can count on me again. I'm quite lucky in respect that I've got a few days off work 'in the bank' so I'll go with the flow with regards the date. If we get enough interest, maybe we could do the Narrows AND the Crouch?

Ifso i will come and fish the saturday again.
Personally from experience find that it fishes best april-ish for me, and into may.
BUT i am happy to fish a weekend in april to show you james how to catch a cod on one of your last casts:clap

hi gallopmanfishing , we will take anyone lol,,,, the more the merrior, we try to arrange either day sessions or those that want to stay over nite aswell, as ive mentioned will put full plans on first post so its simpler to follow developments, all i need at moment is date and whos coming so plans can be put in place with relevent peeps, cheers all
Just tell me when and where ...... I'll bring at least one other with me now that I've bought a second beach buddy ... and I'm working on trying a couple of novel tackle tacticks based on D-vice's and various homemade or modified lures, bubble floats and fish oils; as well as the tried and tested pennel baits.
Oh, and I'll bring the usual brownies!
Peter

P.S. I would happily clean in February and April?

the tide rips through there like a train and the only thing your going to hold bottom with at range will be a D-Gripper or a DVice with DD wires - especially if its a big spring tide.

i dunno we could use the extra set of hands,,, do you think we should suggest this to the guides, scouts , brownies, earn your beach clean badge lol, could make them carry all our fishing gear accross aswell,,,,, nothing like slave labour, welllll golfers have caddies :sun:

For the record i can't do the weekend of 10th April as i'm at a horse show in Birmingham
the tide rips through there like a train and the only thing your going to hold bottom with at range will be a D-Gripper or a DVice with DD wires - especially if its a big spring tide.
Quite right 'Bread', but the tide does turn and slack off for long enough to try at distance what I have in mind. I'll not be at all suprised if my efforts to think outside the box fail, but it will add some interest to try; and you never know, I might just hit upon something that works and others will scramble to copy (unlikely for sure ... but not impossible)
If I do catch with either of my new lures I'll of course post photos and descriptions of how they work here so others can considder my ideas.
i dunno we could use the extra set of hands,,, do you think we should suggest this to the guides, scouts , brownies, earn your beach clean badge lol, could make them carry all our fishing gear accross aswell,,,,, nothing like slave labour, welllll golfers have caddies :sun:
lol ... dropped myself in the Gu there I guess, yes.
The wife actualy offered to come along for the day session and then retreat to a B&B in Orford, then meeting the boat as we limp back in the morning. She was not 100% happy to have her offer declined as she would be taking up my mates place in the car trip down, but a hand to carry tackle one way only across the shingle was not all that tempting, so she'll stay at home unless Jez cant make the date we settle on (in which case the chocolate brownies will be distributed after Pete makes his afternoon collection:sneaky2:)
new to the site and a novice sea angler but would love to get involved with this clean.. and any others in the norfolk / suffolk area..
I can do pretty much anytime (no kids, an understanding girlfriend and a 2 day week help!!) it would also be a great opportunity for me to get to know a few local anglers and learn a few tricks of the trade!!
Will you post more details nearer the time or pm those that have shown an interest?
Cheers
Daz

Count me in on this one. To my shame I hav'nt made the previous few.
I've got a couple of decent STHL strimmers, one with a blade and some landscaping rakes e.t.c that I can bring along if needs be, all stored fairly local.
I'll keep an eye out for the dates. (edit) The 10th of March is good by me. I reckon I can get a couple of helpers along..
Andrew if it's just like a normal work day does that mean I can eat all your sarnies and then mince around while you do all the work??

I might as well supply the bait, cast out, let you eat all my grub then you can reel in as I prepare another bait for you.

PoutMagnet
14-02-2010, 22:10
The vast majority of people normally fish the Saturday day and night as well as a few hours Sunday morning. Although some people just fish the daytime and then get an evening boat back which can be arranged if you speak to banglemouse.

Quite a lot of people will get a few hours sleep in at night but the amount suggested normally covers dad and I. Depends if it is fishing well though as on the March beach clean last year it was a codling a chuck, on the other hand big baits were not necessary.
Just think about how much you use normally and go from there as everyone is different in how often they re-cast and how big their baits are.
Don't get too worried about running out though as there is always excess bait going round and the friendly beach clean atmosphere normally leads to people being given more bait if they run out by fellow fisherfolk

okay all day is getting nearer , ive had a look at tides and if we are all in agreement plan is get stuff over and then set your gear up have fish for a couple hours either side of tide, so at 2pm can we all meet at the building we left rubbish at last time, take a bag or two with you when you first head to your spot and then clean up around your station first, from what ive been told the main areas are the foot path and bushes , so with this in mind would like to target these areas harder first, judging by what andrew , cam and myself cleared in a small area near river last time its gonna take a few bags, we will have to also register the stuff this time so one person will be tasked pen pusher out of groups lol,,, looking forward to a day of chilling on the beach and hopefully a couple of fish of any description would be a bonus,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Thanks for the good wishes guys.
I know that fish are likely to be thin on the ground tomorrow, but I'm actually still quite gutted to be missing out. I really enjoy turning out with a top bunch of blokes, all doing our little bit to keep a great venue clean and open to anglers to fish; and sometimes even catching a few nice fish is a great bonus.
I hope you can all scratch around for something if Mr Cod does his usual trick of hiding for the duration of the clean. I know I had a couple of off the wall ideas to trial myself this time round that will now have to wait.
Maybe we can have another unofficial trip if/when some fish do eventually show themselves?
Good luck all.
