Try ryan h, he's usually got leads for sale and there cheap, for the cod you'll be best off with hokais, lures, jelly worms, pirks etc also take a mixture of worm, squid and crab and you could take a bit of mackerel as well as everything else.

all you need is lug and lug and more lug about a lb and half and a bit of squid :fishing1:

cheers for replies boys, got some leads coming via fleabay, get some lug and squid then. got loads of jelly lures from my last trip , fishing for Bass, although all i seemed to connect to was scad (BIG scad but not BIG bass)better luck this time folks..nice cod supper in dire need of..:fish:

You need 8oz Big wire grip leads(minimum) for uptiding and 12oz-1lb leads for downtiding..

60lb hooklength running ledgers with Pennel 5/0-6/0 sharp Sakumas(the thicker ones!)..loads of lug and squid..or quality Southhampton rag,or both...

No need whatsoever for hokkais,jigs,feathers..etc etc etc

Hi,sorry to but in on this thread...but i have had a brand new sakuma manta 6/0 hook snap clean off at the bend whilst bringing in a huss around 10lb from the shore.
Therefore i have gone back to the very reliable Mustad viking hooks...never had one of these fail.
I have also heard of a few others having them manta hooks fail.

I think Marcus meant the Sakuma Manta Extras.
The ordinary Mantas are poor, but the Extras are one of the best hooks for general fishing.

Ive also had normal sakumas snap with congers etc...they do seem a bit brittle at times

But i do mean the Manta extras...and we're going after cod,they not really known for there blistering runs and gnashing teeth...so should do the job fine
