View Full Version : Finally I got the Ratfish

After almost 200hours of fishing, I finally got me a ratfish. The fish was 1360g and we're caught on 15meters depth on an 4/0 Owner Aki with a slice of mackerel

thats a wierd looking fish you got there mate, i saw one on a wildlife programm not long ago, those fins look like wings:)
and youv'e got some other nice fish as well , dont think ive ever seen a black mouth dog fish before,

In our fjord there is mostly sharks and rays, with a lot of small haddocks and whitings. Actually it can be kinda boring to only get these species. I want something different. ANd now that I've finally caught the Ratfish, I can move on further out in the fjord for some flatties:)

It appears that some websites call that a Ratfish, and others call it a rabbit fish.

The photo below is from a site calling it the rabbit fish.

Do you know if they are the same fish, and just have different names.
