View Full Version : Peterborough and Cambridgeshire Fishing Club
Hi All
There seems to be a lot on Sea Anglers in the Landlocked areas of Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, South Lincolnshire and Rutland on the forum that are not members of a Sea Angling Club so cannot benefit from association with other like minded people. Near the coast areas there are some terrific Sea Angling Clubs but none (that I know of) in the Landlocked areas around where I live.
So I thought I would ask if anyone is interested in starting up a Sea Angling Club for us Landlubbers based somewhere around Peterborough or Cambridgeshire area.
By getting together we could organize some meetings, matches and events to promote Sea Angling. By organizing meets together it would help spread the cost of getting to the coast because we could car share etc. as well as make fishing a lot more interesting and social.
My guess is we would need at least a dozen people in the first instance to start the club and meet to discuss. There would obviously have to be some rules and regs etc but I am sure we can ask other clubs to give us pointers in that direction.
If there is enough interest a meeting can be set up (I guess in a pub) to get the thing kicked off.
I don’t mind setting the thing in motion so if anyone is interested please either post reply on the forum or PM me.
Regards
Iceburg

There used to be quite an active sea fishing set in BT Peterborough , have you managed to make contact with them ?
Nope i have not made contact with any of them. I do know one or two who used to sea fish but not any more. I am trying to get them interested again. But if there are any out there who are reading this please get in touch

Dave ,
There used to be a seafishing club in BT Peterborough when I lived there .
There also used to be an engineering area in Westwood ( Saville road ??? ) where the social club operated.
You could do worse than write to the the chairman of the BT social club , Westwood Peterborough and ask a question or two there .

Hi Mick
Im a beginner myself and im looking into SAC's near Peterborough where i live and came across ECD (east coast danglers). Worth a look. They are not match orientated and are more about relaxed meetings, fun fishing and helping beginners like ourselves. Sounds like its worth a look and they seem reel friendly ;)
I'm a Peterborian living in the Channel Islands (Guernsey) at the moment, so currently spoilt for choice, but due to come back to the UK next year. I'm already wondering how I'm going going to manage from having the sea 2 minutes from my house to living 1 hour from Hunstanton.
If this club gets off the ground can I be an absent member?..and if anybody from the motherland finds themselves in Guernsey next summer give me a shout and I'll lend you some gear and help you out with some good local marks
