Recent research using satellite tagging technology has demonstrated that at least one Great White migrated from the Fallon Islands, off the Californian coast, out to Hawaii. No one, at this stage, understands why but it completed the journey - 2400 miles - in 40 days.

Then more recently some tourists, cage diving off Hawaii, encountered this - http://the.honoluluadvertiser.com/article/2005/Dec/31/ln/FP512310330.html. Certainly not what they were expecting! It was estimated at 17' long.

As well as the pictures, that need to come with a health warning - there're of a diver outside the cage with it - there's also a short video clip.
