View Full Version : Weekend Cathches
Hi Everyone,
Didn't managed to get out myself over the w/e - putting the finishing touches on the boat b/f putting her back in the water. Wired up a live bait tank, checked the engines and put eveything back on board!
Did anyone get out over the w/e? Good to hear from Jambo Jersey that the mackerel have made an appearance.
Not long to go now ...
Cheers, Bald
Didn't get out in my boat either, but tried off the northcoast saturday afternoon.
Had three gars and three pollock on float fished sandeel.
Hopefully this weekend will be boating weather, fingers crossed!

Hey Bald
You want to look at the fishing Guernsey website postings this evening plenty of news on huge mullet shoals , bass, bream etc etc.
I'm definately out fishing this weekend again!!!
Had a nice brill of about 7lbs from our charter trip on Friday, but spinning on Saturday was unproductive!

No Tope????? :g:
Cheers for all the replies - sounds like there's a fair amount of fish in Guernsey at the moment, no doubt there in Jersey too you've just got to know where to look!! That's the bit which generally takes me most of the summer :uhuh:
Grant, were you out on the Anna II? What bait did you catch that Brill on, sounds like an awesome fish ...
I was out on the Anna II- we were trying for tope, but after a while it was clear that they were not turning up. We had enough fresh mackerel as well.
Bait was live sandeel! Not a great suprise! If I was cleever would post a picture up here, but dont know how to attach files, but it was a very nice fish, and my largest flatfish to date.

If you see us, pop over and give us a shout - will be fishing somewhere between the back of elizabeth castle and st Ouens - will be fairly close in though.
more than likely head out about 11ish and stay out till the marina re-opens at 5-6ish....hopefully with dinner in the boat!
Chippy- fishing somewhere between the back of Elizaberth Castle and St Ouens- talk about a wide area!!
May be in St Aubins or Green Isalnd on the kayak.

Well i can't be giving away all those good spots I haven't got yet!!
Seriously though, depends on the sea state (my mrs has a fragile stomach) we'll more than likely have a blast between noimont and becroute first, then do a drift from corbiere back towards St B's and if it's fairly flat, have another blast somewhere in St Ouens.
