Finally got me a Mullet today.
Took a chap from Holland Mulleting and I fished as well since he is an experienced angler.
Using half a bucket of shirvy we saw lots of mullet, some I reckon in the 4lb bracket up to 5 at a time in the shirvy. Got lots of fish sucking and nosing the hook bait but no takes then my float just vanished fishing further out where we couldn't see fish.
After 5 minutes and a good fight, the below is the result. 1lb 10oz of Golden Grey Mullet. Returned alive. Big mistake.
Called Len Le Page (local press angling columnist who also advises re the comps) when I got home as I knew not many fish weighed in for fish of the month and the result, don't even bother because:
1. It was returned.
2. Wasn't weighed on commercial scales.
3. Hand held scales, even ones that cost me £40 (Nice Avon ones) are not reliable to the ounze so no go.
Result  .
Why do you have to kill a fish to enter in a comp???
