Jersey Open Shore Bass Festival 2006
Friday 6th – Sunday 8th October
Running for over 15 years now and taking advantage of some of the finest sea bass habitat in North West Europe, the Jersey Open Bass Festival has seen some fantastic fish brought to the scales over the years.

It takes the fish of someone’s lifetime to win the competition each year and given that the Jersey shore bass record is 16lb 7oz (7.6kg), there has to be some reasonable chance of someone walking away £1,000 richer on the Sunday evening!

This annual competition is organised by Sinkers Sea Fishing Club and has a strong conservation ethic – there is a strict minimum landing size of 3lb and any competitor may enter only their single largest fish.

Giving you complete freedom to roam Jersey’s rich and extensive shores for 48 hours, whoever you are, whatever your preferred technique, you will be sure to enjoy the experience of chasing those magnificent silver predators in excellent company.

So are you not allowed to weigh a fish n one day and then a bigger one the next as you say weight their 1 biggest fish? Does that not lead to discards and people keeping all their fish (if they get bigger that is?)

" Single Largest Fish " was the statement not single fish in 48 hrs total.
Letting you weigh the largest if you catch larger in the permitted time is how I would read it any queries tel: contest organiser.
And if you are in it good luck to you all. Enjoy.
PS : I don't think we are daft enough to discard Bass here in Jersey.
Tight lines to all the Guernsey Anglers coming over?
