rigs for otterspoole

can anyone help me with the following, I am travelling to liverpool at the end of november to fish at otterspoole and would like to know what are the best rigs to take, how far do you need to cast, best baits and what is most likely to be caught.

november is when the cod come in at ottrrspool i,d use apennel rig with a large squid and lug bait i had a 5lber there last november ,also there,s plenty of whiting

Make sure you have some good sized grip leads, the tidal flow can be fierce.

Distance casting not required.

Big lug and squid baits, as ste says. Also good Whiting can be caught, take a bit of Mackie to tip off with for them.
