Flounders are nice done in the frying pan with butter. If your doing them, or any flatfish, do it on a very low heat. Don't try to rush them on a high heat as they'll curl up and get ruined.
Same if doing them on a BBQ. Don't use coals that are too hot.
unfortunately the one's that come out of our river usually glow , due to the dockyard nuclear subs , so they get put back :yucky:
The Flounder I catch at my local pier (Erith) taste awful:yucky: :yucky: whatever way you cook them:thumbdown

i cooked a plaice from shoreham .................. lovely!!
under the grill is a good way of cooking them :D

dont keep thin ones, especially after spawning as they've usually been up river, otherwise they taset great done as above

Flounders that are caught over muddy ground like the River Humber, are no where near as tastey as ones that are caught over clean sandy areas.
