1. Get some cajun spice
2. Get some mackerel fillets and sprinkle a little on the flesh side
3. Heat a frying pan to a decent temp with oil
4. Fry flesh down for 2 mins, then skin down for 3 mins

Enjoy!!!

Nice one! Also try mixing some cayen pepper in some flour, coat the fish in the mix and fry!!!

it may be simple but i think it tastes the nicest smoked mackerell

I have got to agree:clap3: We had this one evening on our recent Dartmouth trip only an hour or so after catching them. Vary the amount of Cajun Spices to suit, it can be too spicy for some.

True! You only need a little sprinkle (half a tea spoonish) on each fillet.

Bit of Greek yogourt with them to counter the heat is a nice alternative.

I love my pan fried Mackerel fillets, but I've got to give this a go. :p

A good way to serve this up an an appetiser or snack is to cut the fillets into 1/2'' wide strips cut diagonally across and then cooked the same way. Serve with sour cream or natural yoghurt, delicious.
