for mullet i have done o/k on the maggot pattern
use a fry imatation for the bass. or get some snake flies. cost about 2 75 each but you cant go wrong. for the mackeral just get anything with a shiny material in it. they will take it aslong as they see the shine.
for the mullet a muddler is a good pattern. get some white ones. imitation of bread. hook a mullet on the fly and i dont think you will be dissapointed.
saying that bass or mackeral wont dissapoint you although i have never caught a macky on the fly
Clousers size 2 or size 1 - Chartreuse/White, olive/white, black/orange.
80% of fishing is with these.

Deceivers are good allround-fly for saltwater flyfishing.
In Norway "Kvitebjørn" is popular, here`s a picture:

Good catches on pollack and seatrout.

For macky I tie my own from peacock feathers, they love em, handy on pike, chub and perch as well and real simple to do, you dont need any fancy kit a pair of mole grips to hold the hook is handy, then just whip on. A coat of red nail varnish will surfice, no need ot go spend loads to have fun. If I can lay my hands on mine you are welcome to a few no probs JD.

These have done the job for me mate, lovely flies, very well made so last a long time (provided you wash them after use) and catch very well.
My favourites for bass are the Lefty's Deceiver Blue/White and Lefty's Deceiver Yellow/White.
I have used this company serveral times and have been very happy.
They also sell on ebay, username= f4tboy

went out yesterday in a howling norwesterly and had 6 pollack in an hour all on clouser minnows. nothing big but these were my 1st fly caught pollack and they dont half pull yer string. my mate persevered with lures and had 8 fish to 4lb 10oz.

I was talking to a guy yesterday who was SWFFing he was using a small (2 inch ish) white eddystone eel, he said that he uses them alot and has taken mackie, gar, pollock, bass and mullet with them... they come in about 20 colours and are only 40 p each.. sounds like a great place to start

i use this guy here http://groups.msn.com/pikeandpredatorflyfishing
his flies truly are the best. now i know his site shows mainly pike flies but his sea fishing flies are just as good. have been using this guy for 2-3 years now and every one of his flies catch fish.
oh and he's a top bloke to deal with.

Blue white green and silver are my favourite colours for all bass and mackeral flies and spinners -I also use a yellow or chartreus fly in dirty water and black flies, for their silhouette, at night. My favourite fly is a streamer pattern of blue and white bucktail and silver flashabou whipped below the eye of a chrome plated long shank size two hook. This fly needs no body, as the hook is silver - so its dead easy to tie. You could add eyes if you wish - it still catches without them. I use a clear intermediate line in shallow water (the inter cuts through waves fishing better). Tight lines!
