Hi
i've looked at that before..i'm not cutting my spindle
if you ream or polish the pinion gear it speeds them up.

i aggree - love my 7ht's far too much to do that (mind you if i can find a cheap one on ebay ..............)

why would anyone want a reel to run that fast for fishing?
some rocket fuel and small brake blocks with a little end float should suffice, let your casting find the required distance.
I cut the spindle on one of my 7HT
and to make the most of the spin speed it now needs a mag fitting
as it now spins 3 times longer than it did befor the chop job

im not trying to tune it for extra distance as such just trying to tune them specially the 7ht as its sounding abit rough been serviced
take out the bearings wash in lighter fuel
put them on the point of a pen and spin them they should spin free
if not wash out till they are clean if still sticking you have a bearing failing
if not just oil the bearing replace and try again if no joy
you will need to balance the spool .

i could need new bearings as its 10yrs old without a bearing change..the spool has been balance.
i had a bit of a play with the turbo..gave it a service new oil a clean etc so i will see what its like tomorrow
thanks
