Shore Fishing in Hurgharda

Hi all,

Just booked a last minute with the missus to Hurghada (flying 2nd Feb for two weeks) and was hoping to take my travel rod and a bit of tackle.

Could anyone (maybe EgyptAngler) share successful tactics to adopt. I usually take plugs, float gear and a few leads when travelling. Any tips on most succssful? Will I need traces? Minimum breaking strain to take? Best baits etc.

I've read the posts on Sharm being no-fishing and assume I am correct in thinking that there will be no probs with fishing in Hurghada?

Finally, does anyone have any hotspots on where I can find some good sport close to shore/jetties etc.?

Im not too fussed about catching monster barracuda or rays, but would really enjoy some good sport

I hope I'm not asking too much, I've been all over web looking for a guide to shore fishing in hurghada without success, so mayb this post can help others in future.

I`m comming to Egypt from Lithuania in 2008 february, hyrghada too and want fishing from shore. I know, that there are many piers. Can I fishing from pier without licence or special knowledge? Please answer anybody..
Of course, I will try fishing on boat with professionals, but I want try self fishing without help, with my girlfriend.

i am in the same boat as i go on the 29th March and am wanting th fish from the shore.

hey going to bump this, were you able to shore fish at all? Or does anyone else know if its permitted anywhere
