View Full Version : Return date for the Kent v Essex meet

alan t
28-02-2007, 00:00
Ok then the return date for the meet to be on the 15th April at Bradwell high water from my tide table for this day is 11-30 am . unfortunately there are no better tides at any time in April to meet everybody's other commitments.
So this would mean for the meet to start at 8am in the morning .
Please keep this thread relevant to the meet only, as its difficult to keep up with relevant facts for the meet.

Thanks Alan

I'll be there, do you want me to organise a late lunch at the Prince, seeing as it'll be too early for Rob to open up for breakfast!

Surely Bradwell fishes better on the ebb anyway and a couple of hours before is enough so we could start at 9.30, makes it easier for the Kent lads and Jaun could come along a little late and still enjoy the meet.

Don't know what your all complaining about, it's only 5oo yards to the sea. If we'd chosen East Mersea it would be over half a mile, Goldhanger threequarters of a mile and Tollesbury a mile and a quarter. Mind you St Osyth is a quick jump over the sea wall, but that place will be crawling with windsurfers, jetskiers swimmers, holidaymakers and Millions of kids. Mind you we could move to the nudist beach about a mile up the coast, trouble is that as usually full of nude fat old men:yucky:

Hey Essex lads:secret:

A plan,

We could take them to the power station on the same route Fatboy and I went one evening,

via Weymarks, about 2.5 miles each way, :yucky: and I was carrying my stove, several cans of processed animal matter, but left the can opener on the kitchen table,:uhuh:

Lee pop into Blean angling..

That's where we got our one from. Think it was somewhere between 30-35 quid.

We get seat box, bivvy, 2 folding chairs, stove, cool bag & a gallon of water on it and providing you are not head onto the wind like when we went to plum pudding island they are easy to pull (little bit harder over shingle but still better than carrying it all).

Malcolm.

I just realised that my rescheduled boat trip from Newhaven is on the same day as the meet so bearing in mind that the only person that did worse than me at Dungie was Whopper, I will not handicap the Kent team if I go on the boat trip!
 I just had an idea though:) . How about I get my fish on the boat measured towards the Kent team total:clap3: . We might stand a chance of winning then.
Going on the past history of this charter trip though (it has been cancelled 5 times already due to the weather) I may still be at the meet.
If not good luck to all.

Shame Terry but I'm sure you'll have a good days fishing on the boat and hopefully win some prizes! It is that comp that you organised with JW and others ages ago isn't it?

I'm going to head down to Eastney for the meet on 01/04/07 now as it's a bit closer and I'll be down that way anyway.

Good luck the Kent lads and may the fish be with you! If you get an away win then it's 1-1. . . . . decider on the cards??
