I was speaking to a few fishermen from both Essex and Kent regarding a meet not a match after the return match.
If you are interested these are the rules

1) No entrance fee
2) Prize for biggest fish is "well done" from everybody else
3) Prize for biggest bag is the same as prize for biggest fish.
4) You may use as many rods as you want (just dont be silly)
5) You can join the meet whenever you want and leave whenever you want.
6) I will pick a vaenue of my choice (its not going to be East Beach) which would be fair for everybody to travel to. I am thinking of Grays at the moment.
7) I will also pick a date which will involve my shift pattern hight of tide, time of tide and what fish are about and the amount of people interested.
8) The meet is open to anybody on the forum (even the south coast lot)
if you are interested then let me know, if you are not interested or have any problems with the rules then please do not reply.

The essex vs kent match is the 15th April, so it will be after that date. I have no idea about boys football season finishing but I would presume April/May time.
Where im planning to fish there should be bass (up to 6-7lbs) flounders over a 1lb with eels hitting the bait after dark. Also the bait should be lug maddies and squid as crab does not work at this mark.

I won't be coming, sorry, but if I attend another beach meet, folk might begin to think I like fishing from the beach :lmao:

This ain't really a beach, more of a cross between an art gallery, a rubbish dump and an industrial site, lot of big bass though:clap2: :clap2:

Does it swing around with the tide and bob up and down on the waves, like a boat :boat:

Maybe jassyfa it all depends on how the east coast or southeast coast is fishing as I do really prefer the open beaches.

I turn my back for 5 minutes and what do I get?
I was planning to fisg Grays, but after fishing with Thames Rover tonight, the problem would be
1) Parking
2) The walk
3) getting everybody to fish in a small space.
4) No pub nearby

The above problems then leaves me with a problem of do I still try to get people to fish Grays, or do I look for an alternative venue where there will be fish.
An alternative venue would be Orford Island where the spring cod run should be in full flow. However Peter (who owns the boat to get us to the island) usually takes his boat out at 7am which means the Kent lot would have to leave there homes at silly O'clock. Alternatively we could fish the island at night saturday onto sunday and the boat usually leaves around 4pm.
Im really struggling where else to go where you don't have to cast 100 yards + for fish, and where the beach isn't go to be overun by jet skiers, windsurfers and chavs.

Im not going to have the meet at Clacton, Walton or anywhere that area of Essex.
Im going to have the meet in June at Grays along the proctor area of Grays. there should be bass and flounders during the day with eels at night.

If thats the first part as you get onto the sea wall, rather than the secret mark, Thames reacons that there are some big bass there all year round, and only a short walk.

I am going to mark it from the slipway at proctors for 20-50 yards to the right and all the way to the left, then right of the boil upto the lighhouse
