ok lads
First Meeting/comp for D.A.B members is 28th April at West Bexington (Chesil)
This is also the first of the regional club friendly comps and i believe we have Anglers from Hampshire and Sussex coming to this.
Comp start time is 11.30 AM and finnish 16.30 Measure and release unless you are keeping for the pot.
2 rods/4 hooks
In fairness to everyone, i think it needs pointing out that the species will predominently be Plaice, so maybe orginise your rigs accordingly?
no prize and i am not looking for one
There are two comps here, D.A.B members results will go to our own league and the regional comp will go to regional legues.
IT IS FRIENDLY!!! anyone wanting to fish is more than welcome and i believe we have some casting hero's to help out maybe before the fishing starts, but that is not confirmed.

found this for ya
might make the thought of losing not so hard to take :clap2:
God grant that I may live to fish
For another shining day,
But when my final cast is made
I then most humbly pray,
When nestled in your landing net
As I lay peacefully asleep,
You'll smile at me and judge
That I'm "good enough to keep."

oops, spelling error!, we have more secret weapons than you know mate :)
Yeah I remember seeing the diving school down Bexi a few times. The only way you are going to beat us is if you pay them to snip our lines every cast! :)
the only weapon they have is Ian's rig made out dissolvable line and yes we have a couple of secret weapon's as well ain't telling you as it wont be a secret but dab boys/girls watch out as we will kick your ass up and down the beach.
Ian we have a problem this match is it going to be dab hhac dab hhac as what happens if 1 guy is 300yrds as someone has got to take the fish to get him to sign the card the only answer i can think of is if the angler in question puts his catch in a bucket with water then walks to the opp team gets them to sign the card then he can relise the fish if he wants to if you got a better idea then please tell us
tight lines

Hi Howie
Simple answer to that is, it is friendly, there will be plenty of us on the beach mate and no one will be bonkers enough to mark a card in a naughty manner.
For all i care , anyone could come up to me at the end and say they caught 20 Plaice at 20" and i would not worry mate. so for my mind it makes no difference if your best mate marks your card.
most important thing is having a beer afterwards unless people are staying on the beach.

I think there will be some Sussex guys down too - should make it easier to fish near another 'team' member - but as Ian rightly says - its a friendly with no big prizes and there is no need to get too hung up on rules - the main thing will be to have fun and meet some of you blankers from further along the coast! LOL.

Very much looking forward to it Ian, we'll be there.
Did you agree a results card / rules for the event? If so can I have an advance copy which I can distribute to our team and also (sounds cheeky but is only for simplicity reasons) copy for our event later in the year. All be singing from same song sheet then.
Cheers
Steve

The rod use has changed at the comp, it is one rod per angler.
