How does sat 21st april grab every one? its a 6.5 high at 8.50(newquay time) so we could easily fish 2 up 2 down and its not too late a finish for those that have to drive back to england.
Not a bad sized tide to fish-not massive but by no means small.

As for location, im not sure. hollywell bay or perranporth for me-plenty room to park and plenty room for the masses of ppl who will fish. but i also like the sound of sandymouth too though the problem with that is that its near 2 hours for those who live down west to fish there home leg, so somewhere a bit more central would be ideal.....any more suggestions lads?

thats sounds good to me mate, dates and location, a beach around newquay would suit most people i think. holywell would be my preferance. also its my birthday the following week so should be no problems getting permission for her up stairs.

well done for trying to sort things out bigman.

Perranporth, Chapel Rock end at least, is not really fishable over high so Holywell would be the best choice of the two. Would prefer the venue to be further west, good tide for Sennen, but thats because I live in Pendeen and we have a baby due in early May so I may not be allowed to go too far.:schmoll:

what about the south coast this time ?????

Sennen looks a good bet, loads of parking and the beach can accommodate any amount of anglers that turn up.
Count me in whatever the general concensus is.

Bigman , Gambia mate , cost me a lot of money so I have to make the most of it!!.
Thoroughly recommend it if your fish list needs extending as I had others but didn't know their names.
And I,m OK for anywhere in Cornwall , if I can find it.

Sure, Sennon sounds good and so does the tide. 99% sure I'm free on the date - will have to dbl check / get permission from the Creature from the Black Lagoon, but I can always butter her up with a box of Terry's All Gold or a sack of live rats or something.

its about 3.5hrs drive :)

thebigman
07-03-2007, 21:43
If its going to be that much of a mission we can easily think about changing the venue to hollywell? there was no feedback from you boys about sennon so i assumed it would be ok. i doubt very much that any1 will mind fishing hollywell instead. thoughts??????

WRASSE MAN

its not a mission rich just thought it would make a good weekend away fishing
whats your thoughts then Devon Lads:)

I don't mind where it is. If it's a weekender ...fine by me.
However , I know some of the other lads are a bit reluctant to travel long distances or have other commitments which need them to be available.

I reckon we've got a more realistic chance of getting a decent Devon team together if the venue was on the North coast - around the Newquay area perhaps ? :g:

Really shouldn't have posted that ! Now the Cornish lads will decide to fish Penzance or Newlyn !!

yet again if i cud blag a lift i would be happy with anywhere.
(feel really scavlike lol).

GrumpyBloke

I,m not fussed where we fish , but the whole point of theses matches is to get together and socialize a bit ( if I have to).
If its proving to much of a trip for some for whatever reason then we should consider a different venue.
I,d rather fish Welcome Mouth (Devon+Cornwall border) and have a good craic than have home advantage with no-one turning out.
By the way , Welcome Mouth has room for about 10 so its not a suggestion.

How about getting a mod to start a poll on this ? Or alternatively a venue that is roughly halfway between Lands End and the Tamar. As I have already said I would be happier with a venue as far west as possible but will try to make it where ever it is.

Theres no point with a poll mate. you only get people voting for marks that they know nothing about and , as happened before, the place that wins the poll often gets shelved because its not really suitable anyway.
We just need some feedback from the devonions that are moaning like girls and we'll see. personally i would rather fish sennen but if its too far for the fairies then we could do somewhere else.

a weekender sounds like a good idea to me, at least no1 nead to drive home 3.5 hours, and for those who like a beer or 20..........

i am relying on a lift so i guess i dont really have much of a say, but as long as there is at least a chance of a fish or 2, i'm up for anywhere.
