what are you printing cards for:unsure:
To apologise to the english for kicking ass again:kissing: No:) If its catch and release everyone will have to record there catch so if everyone has a card(well basically just a piece of a4 paper with species and size) it can all be recorded like that. Unless its gonna be biggest fish, but like was said before most fish will be the same stamp and mainly schoolies and small flounder so its best if its catch and release:)

whats this with the scorecard being a4 sized,we english demand a credit card sized scoresheet as to not waste too much paper:g:

Cefyn Sidan is my favourite venue, or was until my vehical permit was revoked due to actions of cocklers, I am still fighting this access problem.
Will have a 4x4 which will carry two others three at a squeeze lol

Ignore Pat, it's an open friendly event. No pegging, fish wherever you fancy. There are no rules, (although dynamite may be frowned upon) therefore you can fish as many hooks/rods as you want.
Chose whichever side you want to fish for but please remember that there will be more glory fishing for the side with the least participants. At least we look as if we may get to double figures fishing for England this time.:)

Good question mate, I have looked through both threads and all the posts can't find any exact times. Can the organisers please post full details and also where on the beach we are going to fish? After all it is 7 miles long!

I'm still waiting to hear as to whether we can take the Landies on the beach - if we can get permission then I would suggest fishing the 'Paul' - if not then we should fish the 'Debtors row' entrance, about 100 yards back towards Burry Port :)

Sounds about right to me mate. My suggestion would be to meet in the car park outside the main entrance to the country park at the start of Debtors Row. Nine o'clock would be good as we then could be on the beach set up and ready to fish by ten.

NO. The road is tarmac just a bit narrow. Car parking area is ok. Takes about ten minjtes from there onto the beach.

Thats if the Turk sorts out 4x4 access onto the beach! we need to be away from the "Grocks" & seeing as its Bank Holiday Weekend we need to head well up the beach, avoiding sandyachters & kite buggies! (now how is it they get access, but have little or no control over their machines, yet 4x4s that park up & fish, cant get access)?:rtfm:
Yet another anti 4x4 move? I wonder how many of you who slagged off the 4x4 owners in an earlier post, will be looking for a lift 3 miles up the beach?:whistling:

4x4 were banned along with all vehicles after the cockle saga, seems the few anglers who fished it on a regular basis were made the scape goats.
Any news on access yet? I can give a lift to at least one possibly two in my vitara.

SORRY TO HEAR THIS MATE. I bet the English lads are quiet pleased though ( that's me included) it means that we might be in with a shout now:notworthy As far as access is concerned and 4x4s if we all meet in the carpark outside the Park we can sort it from there. I have already PM'd one of the organisers and will be posting a few photos of landmarks etc sometime soon. So watch this space!!

47-50 I think:unsure: Could someone be so kind as to do the last bit of organising as my computer if koofed and im going away on monday for a week so i doubt very much if i will be able to get it fixed before the comp, so this is probably the last time i will be on here before then.
Most of its done, meet in the pembrey car park at 9-9.30 fish from 10.30 till 3.30, measure and release ,unless you want to keep a few for the pot, so you will need some sort of measuring tape/stick and a pen. Its only a bit of fun so theres no need for stewards just show the fish to the guy your fishing with/next to. Winner of celtic cup will be total length caught:)
All that is left to do is the cards, which i think roger the bus is sorting out, and answer anymore questions:) Thanks in advance:kissing: See you all on the 27th:clap2:

if you get permission to take them onto the beach I presume you are going down the west end ? Because of the expected numbers can you ask this bloke if the rest of us can get our cars into the park for nothing and then at least we can walk down onto the beach and all fish in roughly the same area or else we might end up with two different groups. I have a pass to get into the park anyway and would be willing to give a few people a lift from the main gate to the nearset beach carpark if that would help. I still think we should meet in Debtors row carpark first though as Kev suggested.

I'll ask but I doubt it:(
The reason I need rough numbers is that if I can get permission there is no way in Hell they are going to allow more than a couple of vehicles. Blueskip and I both have large twin axled trailers and so the idea is that we can carry more people and gear with less 4x4s;)
Even if we can't get permission my idea is that we'll meet in the debtors row carpark, then we can transfer to the Landy/ trailer combo so we can then either go into the park itself (paying for just one vehicle) or go down the track to the 'fishermans' carpark' which is not going to be big enough for everyones cars and there have been break ins there in the past.

Hmmm - there is absolutely no shelter there at all, 40mph winds would not be nice unless you really enjoy being sandblasted:yucky:

Having spoken to someone who used to fish there 20+ years ago who mentioned being sandblasted It did strike me that we could have a problem. At the moment the forecast is for 18mph northerly winds.
Is there a back up venue if things are bad?
Ken Davison
17-05-2007, 19:51
That is an off shore breeze :clap2: North Channel are is the sandblast area makes the rest of the beach look tame when you have a westerly, southerly or easterly wind :)

Not panicking yet but if the forecast is anything like reality then it will make traveling dangerous.

typical of the ageing man relive their youth by purchasing a car with a bit of clout then proceed to boot it all the way up to 45-50 mph on the motorway if theyve got the bottle to take it out when it starts spitting:uhuh:

Sorry for the shotgun mods but all should red this.
Insurance will be £55 about a £ each if everyone turns up, I'll pay if I think there's a chance of getting my money back - suggest £2 each - any remainder goes to the RNLI

There is an end of the M4 ( West end ) services at the Ammanford roundabout.
It takes about 35 minutes to get to Pembrey park from there , there is not much else closer that is easier to point you to. ( and less chance of an upset gut )

Despite the weather which was not as bad as forecasted :g: it was a great day. The wind off shore ment no surf so flats were the main catch with the odd small bass.
Nice to meet up with some die hard anglers who don't mind a drop of rain.
